Research Director, Qualitative - must be well-versed/experienced in healthcare/pharma.

The Qualitative practice at Lieberman, Inc. is growing fast, and we have an exciting opportunity for a Research Director to join our team and support our work.


The role:

We are seeking a curious and strategically minded qualitative researcher with a true passion for consumer insights and storytelling. This role will lead a range of qualitative market research studies by managing all aspects of each project to ensure successful completion, while meeting and exceeding client expectations. As an experienced moderator, this role also moderates for most of the projects assigned.


Ideal candidates will possess:

  • Minimum 6 years’ relevant professional experience, either in an agency or constancy

  • Experience leading pharma market research studies (including global research)
  • Strong critical thinking skills and an outstanding ability to analyze and interpret data to provide strategic and actionable recommendations to clients
  • Adept at analysis and report-writing: True passion for understanding and explaining the WHY behind consumer drivers and attitudes
  • Demonstrated experience with high-caliber storytelling via PowerPoint
  • Experience with research design and proposal writing
  • Confident presenter
  • Experience moderating (virtual or in-person), both IDIs and groups (healthcare or pharma moderating experience mandatory)
  • A high level of creativity, curiosity and desire to innovate
  • Experience and interest in training junior members of staff
  • Experience applying psychological principles and behavioral science approaches to qualitative research is an advantage
  • A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a social sciences field


Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage multiple complex domestic and international qualitative research projects and meet aggressive timelines, with team support
  • Moderate qualitative studies, predominantly in the healthcare space but also across other sectors
  • Work with project teams to analyze findings and produce strategic and actionable insights and recommendations that positively affect the client's business
  • Train and mentor staff to build industry, marketing, and unique client knowledge to advance analytic insights and research capabilities
