Even though our job description may seem like we're looking for a specific candidate, the role inevitably ends up tailored to the person who applies and joins. Regardless of how well you feel you fit our description, we encourage you to apply if you meet these criteria:
About You
You are customer-focused. You deeply understand customer needs and are passionate about delivering enterprise-grade solutions to our customers. You have a passion for building products that delight internal and external customers and make their jobs easier and more productive. You thrive on working directly with customers, sales and customer success to help land deals.
You are focused on shipping customer value. You are relentless in pursuit of shipping what customers find valuable and love. Be it shipping an early lovable product and then polishing, or iteratively and safely providing a critical big feature, you know what shipping high impact customer value very frequently looks like and the teams that can do them.
You’ve managed and scaled engineering organizations including platform and product teams. You’re a skilled and experienced engineering leader who has built teams working on SaaS-based products with modern tech stacks. You’ve led teams of managers, managers of managers, and technical leaders and helped each team be successful, while knowing where to be in the technical details. You know the difference between product and platform teams and can lead both.
You understand product development. You are experienced in understanding the complexities and nuances of product development, including the business and engineering implications of product decisions. Specifically to enterprise, you know how to balance enterprise scale with the agility and responsiveness of enterprise B2B development. You’ve driven the complex and challenging tradeoffs between speed, cost, and functionality when building products in one or more fast-moving companies. You have deep experience in managing complex projects with a variety of agile development and industry best practices at your disposal.
You can develop and sell a strategy to your team. You have a good sense of vision and strategy, you’re able to communicate it to your teams and stakeholders, and you can translate that strategy into execution. You partner closely with product management, design, marketing, and the support organizations to drive and achieve business outcomes. Furthermore, you build partnerships with other engineering leaders to influence enterprise-grade building across all Zapier products.
You are a skilled mentor, coach, and engineering leader. You have a passion and a track record of mentoring engineers and leaders while at the same time growing your own skills. You've introduced and broadened engineering practices and enhanced engineering cultures. You’ve led engineering teams through complex technical and architectural decisions by providing strategic guidance.
You're a skilled communicator. Zapier is a 100% remote team and writing is our primary means of communication, but you recognize when other mediums may be more effective. You'll lean on all of these tools to communicate vision, strategy, plans, findings, and results to the engineering and full Zapier team.
You're a champion for doing things efficiently. At Zapier, the work you do will have a disproportionate impact on the business. We believe in systems and processes that let us scale our impact to be larger than ourselves.
Things You’ll Do
Drive the execution of Zapier’s enterprise product vision, enabling adoption and expansion in enterprise organizations.
Collaborate with product, design, and go-to-market teams to define and execute the enterprise product roadmap.
Work directly with sales and some customers or potential customers to better understand product requirements

Ensure engineering excellence by championing best practices in agile development, incident process, bug advocacy, architecture, and system design.

How to Apply
At Zapier, we believe that diverse perspectives and experiences make us better, which is why we have a non-standard application process designed to promote inclusion and equity. We're looking for the best fit for each of our roles, regardless of the type of companies in your background, so we encourage you to apply even if your skills and experiences don’t exactly match the job description. This helps speed things up by letting us get to know you and your skillset a bit better right out of the gate. Please be sure to answer each question; the resume and CV fields are optional.
Education is not a requirement for our roles; however, if you receive an offer, you will need to include your most recent educational experience as part of our background check process.
After you apply, you are going to hear back from us—even if we don’t see an immediate fit with our team. In fact, throughout the process, we strive to never go more than seven days without letting you know the status of your application. We know we’ll make mistakes from time to time, so if you ever have questions about where you stand or about the process, just ask your recruiter!
