As the Social Media Manager for this forward-thinking political podcast, you’ll be at the forefront of their digital expansion strategy. Your primary focus will be creating compelling short-form video content for TikTok and Instagram, designed to captivate and engage younger audiences. You’ll also maintain the podcast’s presence on Twitter to retain existing followers while implementing innovative strategies to grow the overall social media following. This role offers a unique blend of creative content creation, strategic planning, and data-driven decision-making. You’ll work closely with the podcast team to align social media content with show topics, ensuring a cohesive and impactful online presence that amplifies the podcast’s reach and influence in the political and current affairs space.

Responsibilities

• Spearhead the creation of engaging short-form video content for TikTok and Instagram, tailored to younger audiences
  
• Develop and implement innovative strategies to grow the podcast’s social media following across multiple platforms
  
• Craft and manage a content calendar that aligns with podcast topics and current events
  
• Stay ahead of social media trends, platform updates, and algorithm changes to optimize content performance
  
• Collaborate closely with the podcast team to ensure social media content reflects and enhances the show’s themes
  
• Monitor and analyze social media metrics, providing insights to continually refine and improve content strategy
  
• Manage the podcast’s Twitter presence, maintaining engagement with the existing audience while attracting new followers
  
• Contribute creative ideas for content that can bridge the gap between traditional podcast formats and social media trends
  

Requirements

• Proven track record in social media management, with a strong focus on TikTok and Instagram (MUST SUBMIT PORTFOLIOS)
  
• Demonstrated ability to create engaging short-form video content that resonates with younger audiences
  
• In-depth understanding of current affairs and political content, with the ability to translate complex topics into accessible social media posts
  
• Excellent video editing skills and proficiency with content creation tools
  
• Strong analytical skills to interpret social media metrics and adjust strategies accordingly
  
• Ability to work independently and manage time effectively in a flexible, part-time role
  
• Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively with a remote team
  
• Passion for staying updated on social media trends and best practices
  
• Experience in podcast promotion on social media platforms is a plus
