With rapid growth and expansion into both military and civilian markets, MyDefence is looking for an experienced Commercial Director, U.S. Domestic Business Development to join the sales team and help achieve MyDefence’s ambitious growth goals and establish a solid pipeline in the U.S. MyDefence is at the forefront of counter-drone technology, using advanced wireless communication systems to innovate and lead the industry.
As Commercial Director, U.S. Domestic Business Development, you will be responsible for driving and executing strategic sales within the U.S. Federal, State, and Local Government segment. Your main task will be to drive revenue growth in the B2B and B2G markets, ultimately ensuring that the organization meets its financial goals.
The ideal candidate will have solid experience and knowledge of Counter-UAS operations and technical applications within the industry. A strong network within DoD, DHS, other Federal Government in addition to hands-on Operational Experience with Counter UAS implementation, Policy, Program Management and knowledge of general requirements for any given agency is a plus.
The role reports directly to the Vice President of Sales.
Key Responsibilities
As Commercial Director, U.S. Domestic Business Development at MyDefence, your main task will be to create market awareness and cultivate customer relationships. Your responsibilities include:
- Responsible for the full sales cycle and customer relationships within the homeland security segment, including B2B and B2G.
- Establish and maintain strong connections, understanding and meeting customer needs to foster long-term partnerships.
- Conduct product demonstrations and presentations to a variety of audiences, showcasing the unique capabilities of our technology.
- Attend industry expos and conferences, engaging with current and potential clients to promote our products and solutions.
- Identify and analyze market trends and shifts, staying ahead of competitors and identifying new business opportunities.
- Collaborate extensively with internal teams, including sales, R&D, operations, and marketing, to develop and implement strategic sales plans.
- Regularly track and strive to meet commercial KPIs and team objectives, contributing to the overall success of the organization.
- Establish MyDefence as a leader in the U.S Federal market space
- Explore means of collaboration to complement other CAUS systems by researching and providing recommendations to MD executive leadership on the best strategies for expanded market entry as the CUAS mission grows with the U.S. government.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Management, Business Administration, or similar.
- 5+ years of technical sales experience, ideally within defense, with a proven sales record within B2B and B2G markets.
- Strong network within homeland security segment, with contacts among potential partners and decision makers.
- Experience with US defense industry standards and government contracts.
- Results-oriented and driven to meet and exceed sales targets, ensuring that growth and revenue goals are achieved.
- Strong focus on building and maintaining customer relationships, understanding their needs, and delivering tailored solutions.
- Ability to work autonomously, driving personal initiatives, while also excelling as a team player, collaborating seamlessly with colleagues to achieve our common objectives.
You have excellent verbal and written communication skills and can effectively present and convey ideas, influence stakeholders, and build relationships. In this role, you must also be prepared to travel 50-70 days per year to meet both domestic and international business demands.
