Finance Business Partner - Paragon & Wholesale

About the role

This role will partner with the Head of Paragon & Wholesale and support the development and maintenance of Financial Planning, Strategy and Commercial insights. Paragon comprises a collection of award winning and premium heritage wineries and wine brands in some of the finest growing regions around Australia and New Zealand.

Here is a taster of what you can expect in this role:

  • Partner the Head of Paragon & Wholesale in the development of the Paragon & Wholesale Strategic plan through to the measurement and realisation of Strategic initiatives.
  • Lead the Annual Budget Cycle with the team across Paragon Hospitality Channel and Wholesale Channel. 
  • Lead business performance reviews with Leadership including overseeing the preparation of weekly & monthly Management Packs articulating key drivers of performance and areas of opportunity and risk.
  • This will include the performance of Paragon products throughout all Endeavour channels.
  • Partner with and drive the Business Intelligence team to automate and improve existing reporting and introduce new interactive dashboard reporting as needed to support  Pinnacle Wine Services Operations stakeholders with timely information on KPI’s. 
  • Support the Business Forecasting process across the Paragon Portfolio, Paragon Hospitality Channel and Wholesale Channel. This includes the identification of risks and opportunities while providing mitigation plans against key performance outcomes.
  • Accountable for the Paragon Portfolio, Paragon Hospitality Channel and Wholesale Channel commercial plan. 
  • Develop initiatives with supporting analysis and recommendations to improve financial performance of Paragon Portfolio, Paragon Hospitality Channel and Wholesale Channel. 
  • Support development activities including market due diligence and preparation of investment cases.
  • Matrix-style partnership required in order to support the team with other Pinnacle Finance team members given the E2E view of Paragon cuts across retail, other channels, wholesale, international etc 
  • Working closely with Pinnacle and Endeavour Finance teams to simplify business processes, enhance insight and realise synergyOccasional interstate travel may be required to Paragon Sites. 
  • Busy periods will typically be the 1-2 weeks following month end close, half year & year end reporting dates, and the annual budget cycle 
     

Qualifications

Now let’s talk about you: 

  • Minimum of 5-7 years relevant experience 
  • Degree qualification and CA/CPA/CIMA
  • Sound commercial finance experience
  • Experience operating relevant systems (SAP, GCP, D365 and PowerBI is desirable).
  • Ability to business partner effectively to drive outcomes
  • Strong communication and influencing skills (both written and verbal)
  • Retail, FMCG and/or liquor industry experience(Desirable)
