About the Team
The GSMA Data Privacy team is responsible for managing and enhancing GSMA’s operational data privacy capabilities to ensure compliance with regulations and the protection of personal and business sensitive data. This includes managing data privacy incidents, implementing and maintaining privacy frameworks, conducting data protection impact assessments, and monitoring privacy risks. By driving operational excellence in data privacy, the team ensures that privacy obligations are met efficiently while fostering trust with stakeholders and supporting GSMA's broader strategic objectives.

About You and Capabilities
You will possess a comprehensive understanding of data protection regulations, particularly GDPR, with demonstrable experience in applying these principles across diverse business operations and regions.
Your expertise should include the ability to foster a 'Privacy & Security by Design' ethos, showcasing your skill in influencing and educating at all levels.
You will have a proven track record of representing and promoting data protection in business engagements, effectively translating complex regulatory requirements into actionable business practices.
You will demonstrate exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, as you'll serve as the primary point of contact for staff, regulators, and relevant public authorities on data protection matters.
Your experience should include managing stakeholder relationships and navigating complex regulatory landscapes.
You will have notable experience in developing and delivering comprehensive data privacy training programs, showcasing your ability to enhance organisational awareness and compliance.
You will exhibit strong project management skills, with the capability to oversee and coordinate multiple compliance processes simultaneously. This includes managing data protection and information security compliance calendars, policy management, Records of Processing Activities (RoPA), and data retention processes.
Your organisational skills should be excellent, with a proven ability to maintain meticulous records and ensure timely compliance across various domains.
You will have substantial experience in third-party supplier management within the context of data protection and information security. This includes conducting thorough risk assessments on data protection and information security-related activities, processes, suppliers, and systems.
Your analytical skills should be sharp, with the ability to identify potential risks and propose effective mitigation strategies.
You will demonstrate a proactive approach to risk management, continuously improving processes to enhance GSMA's data protection and information security posture.
