Your new role: Azure Data Engineers are responsible for delivering high quality modern data solutions in collaboration with cross-functional teams and stakeholders. Projects may range from short term sprints to multiyear delivery engagements with large, blended teams. The primary task is to provision data from on-prem and external data sources to the QuidelOrtho Lakehouse, apply business logic and present to the analytical users.
Requirements (as much as possible, not all is mandatory):
3+ years with cloud technology platforms (Azure or AWS).
Azure skills highly preferred, including provisioning, configuring, and developing solutions in Azure Synapse Analytics, ADF and Azure Databricks.
Experience working with structured, semi-structured and non-structured data types.
Experience with Delta Lake or Apache Iceberg formats.
Hands-on experience using MS SQL Server, Azure SQL or similar RDBMS platform.
Distributed Data Processing of big data using both batch and streaming pipelines.
Experience with partitioning and optimizing large data sets.
Understanding of Lakehouse/Medallion architecture.
Source control experience in Azure Dev Ops or GIT.
Experience with database migration from legacy on-prem systems to new cloud-based solutions.
Experience with database design and data modeling.
Problem-solving attitude.
Highly self‐motivated, self‐directed, and attentive to detail.
Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks.
Experience with Scrum/Agile development methodologies.
Desire to learn new and complex technical and business areas on an ongoing basis.
We would like to see a blend of the following skills, not all of these are required, however Databricks and Spark are highly desirable:
