Job Description

As a Bilingual Medical Receptionist, you’ll be the welcoming face and voice of a dynamic medical practice. This role offers a unique opportunity to make a meaningful impact on people’s lives during crucial moments in their immigration journey. You’ll manage patient interactions, both in-person and over the phone, ensuring a smooth and comfortable experience for a diverse clientele. Your linguistic skills will bridge communication gaps, providing clear information about examinations, costs, and procedures in both Spanish and English. This position requires adept use of electronic medical record systems and a thorough understanding of HIPAA compliance, balancing technical proficiency with a warm, empathetic approach to patient care.

Responsibilities
  • Answer calls and schedule appointments for immigration-related medical exams and DOT physicals
  • Provide clear, bilingual information about examination requirements and procedures
  • Manage patient records using electronic medical systems (transitioning from E Clinical to Care Patron)
  • Process payments and handle basic accounting tasks
  • Follow up with patients on form readiness and address queries
  • Operate the Dial Pad phone system efficiently
  • Create a welcoming environment for immigrant patients, addressing their unique needs
  • Assist in the smooth transition to a new electronic medical record system


Requirements

  • Fluency in Spanish and English (verbal and written)
  • Experience in medical office settings
  • Familiarity with HIPAA compliance and patient privacy regulations
  • Proficiency with electronic medical record systems
  • Strong customer service skills with a patient-centric approach
  • Ability to explain complex medical procedures simply
  • Basic accounting and payment processing skills
