Position Summary
The Enterprise Multi-Cloud Solutions Architect establishes system information requirements using analysis from the information engineer(s) in the development of enterprise-wide or large-scale information systems, designs architecture to include the software, hardware, and communications to support the total requirements, and provides for present and future cross-functional requirements and interfaces. As appropriate, the Enterprise Multi-Cloud Solutions Architect ensures these systems are compatible and in compliance with the standards for open systems architectures; the Open Systems Interconnection (OSI) and International Standards Organization (ISO) reference models; and profiles of standards such as Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineers, Open Systems Environment reference model, as they apply to the implementation and specification of the Information Management solution of the application platform across the application program interface and external environment hardware and/or software. The performance of this position is key to RavenTek’s performance on our contract, and therefore RavenTek’s mission to support the customer.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Design and implement multi-cloud architecture that aligns with business objectives and requirements.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate cloud solutions into existing systems and processes, including SecDevOps Application Pipeline integration, and IaC implementation.
- Ensure cloud solutions are secure, scalable, and performant.
- Develop and maintain cloud infrastructure and application roadmaps.
- Provide expertise on cloud migration projects, including planning, execution, and post-migration support.
- Monitor and optimize cloud resource usage and costs.
- Create and maintain documentation for cloud architecture and implementations.
- Stay current with the latest cloud technologies and best practices.
- Develop and deliver training sessions on cloud technologies to internal teams.
- Travel to the DMV area for work on-site at least 4 days a month.
- Enter actual time worked, once complete, at the end of the day, or no later than 10:00 a.m. the following workday, and submit timesheets at the end of each pay period.
- Provide Monthly Status Report (MSR) to the RavenTek Program Manager by the deadline provided.
- Monitor RavenTek email on a regular basis, at least 3 times per week, and respond accordingly.
- Complete required compliance training as assigned.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications, Knowledge, and Critical Skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Exemplary leadership skills to guide and mentor cloud engineers.
- Ability to communicate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- Strong understanding of cloud security principles and best practices.
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.
- Ability to troubleshoot and resolve cloud infrastructure issues.
- Proficiency in scripting and automation (e.g., Python, Bash, PowerShell).
Education & Work Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
- 5 years of experience in cloud architecture and engineering.
- Experience with multi-cloud environments, including AWS, Azure, and Google Cloud.
- Experience with DOD Cloud Environments.
- Experience with infrastructure as code (IaC) tools such as Terraform, CloudFormation, or ARM Templates.
- Experience in designing and managing cloud solutions for enterprise environments.
- Experience in the cybersecurity domain is a plus.
Certifications, Licenses:
- Cloud certifications (e.g., AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Professional, Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert, Google Professional Cloud Architect).
- Additional relevant certifications (e.g., Certified Kubernetes Administrator (CKA), Certified DevOps Engineer).
- Information Technology certifications (e.g. CompTIA A+ CE, CompTIA Network+ CE, CompTIA, Security+ CE, CompTIA Linux+ CE).
Special Requirements
- Secret clearance required.
Work Environment
Employee will be working indoors in an office environment with other people. Potential moderate temperature fluctuations. Typical indoor and computer related noise level, and typical office, paper, and equipment related dust. Exposure to video display terminals occurs on a regular basis.
Physical Demands
To successfully perform the essential functions of the job, the employee needs to be able to sit at a workstation for extended periods; use hand(s) to handle or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; talk and hear; see to read printed materials and computer screens; mobility to work in a typical office setting. Ability to work on desktop or laptop computer for extended periods of time reading, reviewing/analyzing information, and may be required to provide recommendations, summaries and/or reports in written format. Must be able to effectively communicate with others verbally and in writing. Employee must be able to lift and/or move moderate amounts of weight, typically up to 20 pounds. Regular and predictable attendance is essential.
