Job description

AIChE, founded in 1908, is a professional society of more than 60,000 chemical engineers in 110 countries. The Grants Specialist will play a critical role in the day-to-day operations of our growing grant-funded organizations. Reporting directly to the COO of one of these organizations, RAPID, the Grants Specialist will coordinate certain financial and operational activities across the program teams, AIChE accounting and finance teams, sub-recipients and the federal government. The Grants Specialist must be both detail-oriented and a strong communicator. The Grants Specialist will be responsible for supporting annual and project budget development, preparing schedules for the annual audit, preparing and managing internal and external reporting, expense management, invoice creation, and managing grant compliance.

The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, proactive, organized, flexible, and able to communicate effectively to both financial and non-financial audiences.

 Responsibilities:

  • Acts as Grant Administrator on multiple projects
  • Develop, monitor, and manage budgetary and fiscal tasks related to grants throughout pre-award, current award, and post-award processes, review accounts ledgers and P&Ls
  • Assist in the coordination of institute financials with AIChE budget processes, federal compliance guidelines, and project contingencies
  • Annual and Single Audit assistance
  • Support compliance with cooperative agreements and CFR
  • Support the creation, management and reporting of invoices and reimbursement processes
  • Communicates information regarding compliance and financials regularly and effectively for COO approval

Requirements

Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of experience in finance, economics or a related field, Nonprofit experience would be a plus. Experience with federal, state, and / or 3rd party funding and grant contracts
  • Familiarity with Code of Federal Regulations (CFR) is beneficial (??) Not sure I would require this
  • Excellent organizational and project management skills, with keen attention to detail
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to learn quickly, take initiative, prioritize, and work well under pressure
  • Demonstrate a commitment to quality, accuracy, and thoroughness
  • Experience using financial systems such as General ledger, Association Management Systems), Accounts Payable Systems, and time recording.

Compensation Range: $75,000-$95,000 Annually
