SMX is hiring an Account Director to oversee and expand large enterprise accounts by selling and implementing Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) software solutions. This role focuses on building strong client relationships, understanding business needs, and driving revenue through strategic account planning and execution. The Account Director will often lead a dedicated team to achieve sales and delivery targets. Candidates should have experience in selling and delivering both on-premises and cloud-based ERP COTS solutions, preferably Oracle, to federal agencies. The ideal candidate will be responsible for developing, managing, and growing accounts within the federal market.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
Responsibilities are primarily focused on being able to work in a team setting and leveraging the skills of other team members throughout the organization. You will collaborate with growth teams to identify and develop opportunities within the pipeline while working closely with Business Unit, Division/Group Leadership, and enterprise services SMEs. A commitment to supporting company initiatives is essential.
In this role, you will be tasked with driving account growth, both within existing organizational frameworks and in untapped areas, by creating strategic business plans, developing solutions, engaging with customers, and supporting proposal efforts. Responsibilities also include overseeing customer accounts and strategic positioning, managing the account opportunity pipeline, forecasting, supporting capture activities, building and managing teaming relationships, and coordinating with internal business development, program management, solution architecture, and growth teams to craft winning proposals.
Required Skills and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree with a minimum of 12 years of related experience in the Federal Enterprise Solution Marketplace
- Extensive experience (minimum 5 years) in developing, managing, and growing accounts within the federal market
- Extensive experience (minimum 7 years) implementing and supporting On-prem and/or cloud ERP, HCM, etc solutions for the Federal mission in target accounts/markets; Working knowledge of missions, cultures, organizational components, leadership, major programs, challenges, and buying trends
- Track record of successfully managing accounts >$10M review per year
- Established relationships with target accounts clients, stakeholders, and influencers, with demonstrated ability to develop and foster new relationships
- Experience interacting with and briefing senior government and industry acquisition officials
- Understanding the full business development lifecycle and has been successful in various customer domains within the federal markets
- Proactive, organized, and highly skilled professional
- Experience with contributing to proposals and the RFI, RFQ, or RFP process
- In-depth knowledge of the competitive landscape and existing contracts within the target accounts Market Place
- Strong communication and presentation skills, while maintaining a positive attitude, strong drive for results
- Collaborative and proactive work across SMX to achieve broader company growth objectives while maintaining connectivity to the program/contract executing managers
- Proven ability to work creatively and analytically in a problem-solving environment demonstrating teamwork, innovation and excellence

Desired Qualifications:
- Additional knowledge and experience with adjacent capabilities in the areas of Enterprise IT; Cyber Operations, ITSM and Managed Services; Data Center, Cloud and Cloud Migration; Data Transport and Systems Integration; Application Development and Modernization; Big Data and Data Analytics is a plus
