We are looking for a highly motivated Business Affairs professional to join FUGA’s Legal and Business Affairs team as Business Affairs Director, preferably based out of our London or Amsterdam offices.

What You Do

Key responsibilities:

  • Advise on and manage the drafting, negotiation and administration of Client Agreements with minimal supervision (including service offerings such as advance structuring, digital and physical distribution, marketing and audience strategy services, UGC channel management and related services, sync services, neighbouring rights and royalty accounting services)
  • Advise on and manage the review, drafting, negotiation and administration of DSP Licence Agreements with minimal supervision
  • Advise on and manage the review, drafting, negotiation and administration of various other agreements with minimal supervision (including physical distributor agreements, manufacturing and associated agreements, and vendor / procurement / contractor agreements)
  • Support our Trust & Safety initiatives (include assisting with claims and litigation matters) 
  • Assist with the creation of new contract templates and the maintenance of current contract templates
  • Maintain and assist with making improvements to internal policies and cross-department / cross-group collaborations and workflows 
  • Support FUGA Business Development representatives and our Group Licensing & Partnerships representatives in driving forward business in key markets
  • Respond to day-to-day internal and external queries, and generally assist the SVP, Business Affairs with business affairs for FUGA and related business units in the Downtown Music Group


Who You Are

  • Qualified lawyer / business affairs professional with a law degree, at least 7 years’ experience practising law and at least 5 years’ relevant experience in a legal / business affairs capacity with a label, music distributor or other relevant organisation in the music industry
  • Digital / DSP licensing experience is an advantage
  • Strong negotiator with exceptional attention to detail and communication skills, and established key relationships 
  • Proactive team member who is motivated to maximise and improve existing workflows and procedures 
  • Exceptional project manager with the ability to work across multiple deals / projects at once, proactively drive those deals / projects forward, and effectively manage priorities
