Mythical Games is seeking an experienced Senior Unity UI Artist to join our dynamic development team for an exciting mobile game project featuring Pudgy Penguins™. In this position, you will be responsible for designing and implementing high-quality UI elements, animations, and transitions using Unity Engine, ensuring an immersive and engaging player experience. You will collaborate with the Art Director and work independently and collaboratively across departments to enhance the overall functionality of the game and influence product design.
Responsibilities:
• Lead the design and implementation of user interfaces for mobile games, ensuring a seamless and engaging player experience.
• Develop polished UI elements, including text, animations, and transitions, within Unity Engine.
• Collaborate with game designers, artists, and programmers to create and refine UI concepts and prototypes.
• Create wireframes, mockups, and interactive prototypes using tools such as Figma.
• Ensure consistency in visual style and functionality across the game’s interface.
• Stay updated on the latest UI/UX trends and technologies to continually improve design practices.
• Communicate design rationale and decisions effectively to stakeholders and team members.
Qualifications:
• Proven experience as a UI/UX designer in the gaming industry, with a strong portfolio showcasing mobile game projects.
• Expertise in Unity Engine, including implementing UI designs with minimal programming support.
• Proficient in design tools such as Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, XD), Sketch, and Figma.
• Strong understanding of user-centered design principles and best practices.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to adapt to new challenges and feedback.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
• Comfortable with communication and collaboration tools like Slack.
• Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to articulate design decisions clearly.
• Experience using version control systems like Git.
Requirements:
• 3-5 years of experience in UI/UX design within the gaming industry.
• Demonstrated expertise in creating and implementing high-quality UI designs in Unity • Engine.
• Experience with animation and transition design within a game development context.
• Strong artistic skills, with a keen eye for detail and visual aesthetics.
• Knowledge of current industry trends and technologies in UI/UX design for mobile games.
• Passion for gaming and a deep understanding of player behaviors and preferences.
• An online portfolio demonstrating relevant artistic skills is required.
The expected base salary range for this role is based on the location where the employee’s work will be performed and is aligned to one of our three compensation pay range tiers. Base pay is just one part of Mythical’s total compensation package, which is provided to compensate and recognize employees for their efforts and contributions. This role is also eligible to participate in Mythical’s Corporate Bonus and Equity Plan.
Pay Ranges by Tier:
Tier 1: $146,000 - $201,000
Tier 2: $132,000 - $182,000
Tier 3: $117,000 - $161,000
Locations by Tier:
Tier 1 Locations: San Francisco Bay Area - California
Tier 2 Locations: Remainder of California (outside of the SF Bay Area), Washington state, Massachusetts state, New York state
Tier 3 Locations: All other states outside of California, Washington, Massachusetts, and New York
