Description: 

 

We are seeking a motivated Data Privacy Senior Manager to join our growing team! This is a fully remote role working closely with our CEO and Founder. The successful candidate will be a hard-working, self-motivated, established privacy professional who is excited about the opportunity to interact with high level clients on a daily basis and has a strong history of consulting experience. This is a great role for a privacy consulting guru who can guide companies through requirements and evaluate a company against the appropriate laws. 

 

This senior level role will support Zaviant’s clients developing and implementing policies, and guiding business teams to ensure compliance with privacy laws. This leader will be able to successfully interface with internal and external stakeholders, and work closely with business, operations and risk teams.

 

The ideal candidate will be a collaborative advisor and business partner, with an innovative, process-oriented and practical mindset, holding deep data privacy and protection expertise who is undaunted by complexity and thrives on tackling the challenges inherent in a lean, fast-paced environment. They must be knowledgeable in all matters related to information privacy including jurisdictional laws, regulations, enforcement models, compliance, terminology, policies, and privacy program development.





Responsibilities Include:

 

  • Work with clients to create and mature privacy programs and remediation strategies
  • Understand how privacy technologies can serve as an enabler for privacy program operations and assist with deployment of privacy-enhancing technologies
  • Lead the execution of assigned client engagements from start to finish, which includes the engagement planning, directing, and completion of assessments, privacy program implementations, privacy technology implementations and managed services engagements on-time and on-budget
  • Work with the client to plan an engagement strategy, define objectives, and address privacy- related controls risks and issues
  • Proactively interact with key client management to gather information, resolve problems, and make recommendations for improvements
  • Collaborate with team members at all levels in the development and marketing of the privacy and data protection solution offering
  • Plan, execute, direct and complete privacy assessments and audits against various frameworks
  • Perform activities such as data mapping, data classifications, data privacy impact assessments, etc.
  • Work with various partners and technology vendors to develop joint solutions
  • Manage multiple engagements and competing priorities in a rapidly growing, fast-paced, interactive, results-based small team environment
  • Deep understanding of global privacy and data protection regulations, such as EU’s GDPR and US laws such as VCDPA, CPRA, CTCPA, CPA, HIPAA, GLBA
  • Support business development activities including client prospecting, proposal development, professional networking, thought leadership, external webcasts, and other brand building activities



Qualifications:

 

  • 8+ years of privacy experience in a consulting firm, or in-house compliance / legal department / or a minimum of 5 years leading a global privacy program.
  • Extensive knowledge of US and EU privacy laws
  • lAPP Certifications including CIPP/US or CIPP/E. CIPT or CIPM a plus
  • Experience implementing and/or developing programs leveraging OneTrust
  • Strong technical knowledge and extensive experience in the technology industry
  • Experience managing teams, including strategic planning, career development, and resource allocation.
  • Experience and skill at drafting and implementing policies and guidance documents, conducting investigations, and developing scalable processes.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead, learn quickly, prioritize multiple urgent tasks, take action, and provide clear direction in the face of ambiguity.
  • Ability to simplify complex issues and provide pragmatic advice and practical solutions that can be operationalized.
  • Team mindset, with ability to build strong relationships, and work collaboratively within a growing team and cross-functionally with members at all levels of the organization.
  • Experience working with leading privacy regulations to perform privacy assessments and support privacy program implementations
  • Experience preparing reports and other deliverables that contain strategy, project, or technical analysis and findings in connection with consulting engagements and communicating those results to the team and client
  • Experience in project management and the ability to clearly communicate data protection and privacy issues verbally on both a formal and informal basis to all levels of client staff
  • Exceptional client service and communication skills, with a demonstrated ability to develop and maintain outstanding client relationships
  • Can travel as needed
  • Experience preparing reports and other deliverables that contain strategy, project, or technical analysis and findings in connection with consulting engagements and communicating those results to the team and client
  • Experience in project management and the ability to clearly communicate data protection and privacy issues verbally on both a formal and informal basis to all levels of client staff
  • Exceptional client service and communication skills, with a demonstrated ability to develop and maintain outstanding client relationship



Compensation: 

 

  • Base salary of $140k to $200k
  • Performance based incentives bringing total comp to $180k to $225k> performance based consideration will evolve over time. Initially you have the individual contributor/quota angle, then a team contribution and eventually, tie them into the overarching strategic business objectives (EBITDA based bonus)
