Job description

Overview:

Amyx is seeking to hire a Senior DevOps Engineer to support Defense Logistics Agency (DLA) Document Automation Content Service (DACS) project a tele-work environment. DLA Document and Automation Management Service (DAMS) Program Management Office (PMO) requires ongoing functional, technical, application, cybersecurity, Records Management (RM), database, help desk, and analytical support services. These services will support DACS development, support, and sustainment.

 

Responsibilities:

The Senior DevOps Engineer will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining automated pipelines and workflows to support the DACS solution. This role focuses on streamlining development, deployment, and operational processes in compliance with DoD and DLA requirements.

 

Key responsibilities include:

  • Pipeline Automation and Management:
    • Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines to support secure, efficient code deployment across staging and production environments.
    • Automate testing, integration, and deployment processes using tools within the DevSecOps environment.
  • Cloud and Containerization Support:
    • Support the migration of DACS from Virtual Machine-based architecture to Kubernetes/Docker cloud containerization in Microsoft Azure.Ensure compliance with DoD Iron Bank standards for container security and deployment.
    • System Monitoring and Optimization:Monitor performance metrics for deployed applications and infrastructure.
    • Identify and resolve system bottlenecks, ensuring uptime and operational efficiency.
  • Collaboration and Agile Integration:
    • Work closely with cross-functional teams, including developers, system administrators, and cybersecurity specialists, to support Agile workflows.
    • Participate in sprint planning, reviews, and retrospectives, providing technical expertise for iterative improvements.
  • Maintenance and Upgrades:
    • Perform system updates, patches, and upgrades as per DLA lifecycle requirements.
    • Ensure OpenText and other COTS components are always one version behind the latest manufacturer releases to maintain stability.
  • Documentation and Compliance:
    • Develop and maintain documentation for deployment processes, workflows, and technical configurations.
    • Ensure all processes adhere to DLA's Agile Playbook SOP, DISA STIGs, and other DoD compliance requirements
  • Incident Response and Troubleshooting:
    • Provide rapid response to system issues, implementing fixes and conducting root cause analyses.
    • Support disaster recovery planning and execution, including backup management and recovery simulations.
  • Must have the ability to communicate accurate information

Technologies used:


• Proficient in all .NET languages and Microsoft Visual Studio
• Driving strategy and overseeing architecture of continuous integration and deployment, and monitoring across technologies
• Demonstrated experience with defining Scrum Agile methodology for large scale clients
• Demonstrated experience in leading DevOps methodologies
• Demonstrated experience with implementing Test Driven Development (TDD) Methodologies
• Demonstrated experience with driving automated software development lifecycle toolchain
• Demonstrated experience with deployments in both on premise and cloud environments
• Experience serving as the engineer of complex technology implementations in a product-centric environment
• Experience with DevOps services using infrastructure as a service providers (e.g., Amazon Web Services, Microsoft Azure, Google Compute Engine, RackSpace/OpenStack)
• Using scripting or basic programming skills to solve problems
• Experience with configuration management tools (e.g., TFS, GitHub, Chef, Ansible, Salt, LVM)
• Familiarity with containerization technologies (e.g., Kubernetes, LXC, Docker, Rocket, OpenShift)

Qualifications:

Required:

  • Undergraduate degree required. Must have the minimum years’ experience that is directly related to the following duties and responsibilities:
  •  5+ years Agile experience
  • 5+ years experience in all the supported technologies listed above
  • Security/Certification Requirements:
    • Sensitivity Level: Active Secret Clearance/NACLC (IT-II)
    • IA Level: IAT-II (CCNA-Security, GICSP, Security+CE, GSEC, SSCP, or CND)

 

Preferred:

  • Senior Level: 10+ years relevant experience using multiple development languages• CIW HTML5 & CSS3
  • Agile SCRUM Master
  • OpenText Content Server System Administrator Certification
  • Extending the ReadyDocs Solution (RDDEV)
