What You'll Do
As a leader at Avalara, the role of Global Senior Director - Partner strategic planning and decision support will shape the trajectory of our partner organization. This role is perfect for a strategic thinker with a background in finance, analytics, and technology platforms, who is familiar with steering complex projects and leading global teams. The Sr. Director will be involved in strategic, annual financial reporting, assessing performance, forecasting, budgeting/ target setting and leading a team responsible for providing insights to support executive decision-making and deal support. Further you will lead a global organization, and responsible for the technical aspects of dashboard creation.

Responsibilities
What Your Responsibilities Will Be
- Develop and refine complex financial models and business cases to support strategic negotiations, Business Development deals and initiatives and overall decision-making processes related to go-to-market projects.
- Support technology partnerships motion with ad-hoc deal desk support, pricing models, high stakes commercial negotiations, business case projections, and operational improvements recommendations.
- Hire and lead a global team representing technical development skills, insights and financial acumen able to support partner team and leadership at VP level, ensuring the delivery of critical partner analytics and actionable initiatives
- Work in partnership with Finance and RevOps to support the analysis and performance deep dive into partner channels, design and assist on referral (channel or technology) commission structure/models, and support in putting in proposals together for senior leadership.
- Lead efforts for go-to-market strategies while managing relationships/shared goals/KPI with executive stakeholders.
- Lead engagement with Finance, Technical Teams, and BI Engineering to build models and dashboards.
- Prepare and present of monthly business reviews, executive reporting and board decks. Manage board of directors financial content and positioning with executive leadership team members as applicable.
- Coordinate annual financial planning process presenting to C-Suite executives
- Goal setting/tracking with different stakeholders at VP level
- Conduct insightful analyses on the Global Partner funnel, from lead generation to deal closing, leveraging CRM (Salesforce) data to identify revenue optimization opportunities and provide the sales team with actionable strategies for success
What You'll Need to be Successful
- 15+ years of experience in complex analyses in financial models, GTM business cases, and driving executive decision support in strategic decisions in investment banking and SaaS companies over 750+ people.
- Master's degree in Business Administration required with Finance background
- Experience of self-serve market research and applying internal data to put supporting content for business cases
- Present and manage communication to Partners/external stakeholders and internal stakeholders
- Experience leading a multi-functional team.
- Deep industry knowledge in ERP, SaaS, and technology platforms, with an understanding of integrations, e-commerce, and current trends in commerce platforms
- Experience managing global stakeholders and facilitating executive-level communications.
- Demonstrated expertise in people management and collaboration.
- Functional experience in FP&A business partner, Business Intelligence, and business case building roles.
- Expert-level in Excel and PowerPoint for creating executive presentations.
- Adept with Salesforce, Snowflake, Jira, SQL, Tableau, PowerBI, ThinkCell and other data analytics tools, including G-connector, Coefficient, Hex, etc.
Pay Range Details
The base pay range(s) below are provided in compliance with state specific laws. Pay ranges may be different in other locations.
Colorado $148,800 - 245,600 (annually)
Washington $148,800 - $271,500 (annually)
California $148,800 - $297,300 (annually)
New York $148,800 - $297,300 (annually)
The pay range above is the general base pay range for you in the state listed. Your actual salary/wage may be based on multiple factors, such as geographic location, candidate experience and qualifications, and market and business considerations. This role is eligible for an annual bonus based on personal and company performance, depending on the terms of the applicable plan and your role.
