The Strategic Partner Director sets and leads our global strategy across our enterprise partnerships. You will drive the strategy and execution of programs to exceed our revenue goals, customer and partners success targets and overall partner profitability. This is a high impact role requiring collaboration across multiple departments in Avalara including Sales, Customer Loyalty, Marketing, Product and Business Development and with our International teams.

This is a senior role that is responsible for our overall strategy that plays an integral role in the success of the company.

This role will be fully remote and report to the Senior Director, Global Partner Development

What Your Responsibilities Will Be

  • Develop a comprehensive, multi-year go-to-market strategy across partner ecosystems. Lead regular executive reviews to align cross-functional support and update progress to goals.
  • Develop and extend a network of "executive relationships" at key partners.
  • Architect and implement a rolling 12-month joint product development plan with key partners to keep the ecosystem aligned with Avalara innovations and changes.
  • Build data-driven business case justification to guide decisions on products, programs, and business terms to improve ARR growth of your ecosystems. Include trade-off analysis that applies to individual teams or across the organization.
  • Analyze data and find meaning, find trends and develop plans to address opportunities and corrections. Report on the progress and improvement of the plans.
  • Collaborate with departments to address customer success and partner success issues. Identify causes and engage the appropriate partner groups to create joint plans to correct and improve key metrics.


What You'll Need to be Successful

  • 15 years experience in strategy consulting or go-to-market business development.
  • 10+ years experience managing Strategic Partnerships with ERP publishers, ISVs, systems integrators or consulting firms in the Oracle, Workday, SAP, or Salesforce, ecosystems
  • Experience building strategy in a cross-functional environment.
  • Demonstrated analytical, and project management skills, using relevant information to make critical decisions that affect cross-functional teams and have substantial impact on investments and program effectiveness.
  • Experience building strategic Partnerships that deliver long-term revenue growth and customer/partner satisfaction.
  • Experience with technical product management and road mapping.
  • Experience with enterprise class ERP or financial software, ISV solutions, global organizations, or extended enterprise ecosystems.
  • Experience with analytics, data, databases, predictive modeling, or business intelligence.
  • Experience managing global client partnerships and key strategic partner relationships involving strategic account planning and a pace to lead successful execution.
  • Proof of producing measurable results of influenced revenue or channel sales through global strategic system integrators
  • Diligent at measuring and communicating progress to achieve targeted results, identifying obstacles and associated remediation plans
  • Proof of scaling capacity of global strategic partners' technology practices.
  • Executive selling and business development skills; ability to understand different partner GTM and Organizational models.


Pay Range Details

The base pay range(s) below are provided in compliance with state specific laws. Pay ranges may be different in other locations.

Colorado $132,400 - 218,400 (annually)

Washington $132,400 - $241,400 (annually)

California $132,400 - $264,500 (annually)

New York $132,400 - $264,500 (annually)

The pay range above is the general base pay range for you in the state listed. Your actual salary/wage may be based on multiple factors, such as geographic location, candidate experience and qualifications, and market and business considerations. This role is eligible for an annual bonus based on personal and company performance, depending on the terms of the applicable plan and your role.
