DIRECTV is seeking a highly skilled Principal of Advanced Analytics to develop models, reporting, analysis, and insights in support of product engagement strategy. This role will use expert skills in advanced analytics to evaluate product, viewership, and engagement performance. You’ll have the opportunity to bring together a variety of data sources and apply the latest data science tools and methods to solve business problems in the dynamic subscription video industry. The ideal candidate will have exceptional data science programming skills, a deep knowledge of statistics and business, and hands-on experience building analytics tools that generate insights.
Here's what you’ll do:
- Design and execute advanced data analysis projects to support product and engagement initiatives and objectives.
- Leverage cutting edge analytics techniques and tools to gather, analyze, and interpret a wide variety of data to identify causal relationships and trigger points, build segmentations, behavioral engagement studies, dashboards, reports, and ad hoc analysis.
- Design and build KPI dashboards to monitor performance metrics. Track and analyze KPIs, leveraging automated capabilities.
- Develop reports, charts, tables and other visual aids in support of findings.
- Present actionable insights and recommendations to empower cross-functional decision makers and key stakeholders.
- Ensure data quality, integrity, and compliance. Partner with cross-functional stakeholders to ensure accuracy and alignment in measurement.
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to identify opportunities for data-driven improvements in product strategy.
- Partner with peers in analytics in a culture of continuous learning and innovation.
What you’ll need to be successful:
- Bachelor’s degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Business Analytics, Computer Science, Data Science, Business, Economics or related field preferred. Master's degree a plus!
- 5 – 7 years relevant experience in advanced analytics, marketing analytics, data science, big data, relational database structures, reporting, dashboarding, and ad hoc analysis, including hands on technical expertise.
- Proficiency in SQL, Python, and Tableau for data extraction, analysis, and visualization.
- Proficiency with Databricks for big data processing and modeling.
- Advanced skills in programming, big data platforms, and data visualization (SQL, Python, R, Databricks, PySpark, Snowflake, Tableau, Power BI).
- Excellent organizational, analytical, and time management skills.
- Strong oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills; capable of explaining complex information to others in a straightforward manner and ability to translate analytical findings into clear, actionable insights.
- Proven track record of developing analyses, dashboards, reporting, and insights that impact business strategy.
- May require a background check due to job duties requiring routine access to DIRECTV and DIRECTV customer’s proprietary data. Qualified applicants with arrest and conviction will be considered for employment in accordance with local ordinances and state law.

The Base Salary range displayed below reflects the minimum and maximum target salary for each of DIRECTV's 4 (four) US Labor Market Zones. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.

Low (N1): $127,965 - $191,995
Mid (N2): $134,700 - $202,100
High (N3): $148,170 - $222,310
Top (N4): $154,905 - $232,415
