Job Overview

Join our dedicated team at Compass Health Network as a Nurse LPN/RN in our Crisis Center Stabilization Center. This PRN position offers a unique opportunity to provide both direct and indirect patient care in a psychiatric setting, ensuring that we maintain the highest standards of Professional Nursing Practice. Your role will be crucial in coordinating care for individuals experiencing behavioral crises, collaborating with an interdisciplinary team to enhance patient and family education.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver comprehensive nursing care including health and pain assessments, vital signs monitoring, and daily care for clients at the Crisis Stabilization Center.
• Administer medications proficiently, including medication passes, injections, and monitoring self-administration.
• Effectively manage medications, including documentation and oversight of controlled substances.
• Provide thorough patient education regarding physical health and medication management.
• Coordinate care and communicate effectively with staff, families, and healthcare providers.
• Record and report notable changes in patients’ behavior, attitude, and physical conditions.
• Assist in diagnostic and treatment procedures as needed.
• Mentor new employees on established procedures and protocols.
• Actively participate in team meetings and leadership discussions.
• Offer direct care to adult patients, including those exhibiting agitation.
• Participate in mandatory overtime as required.
  
  

Required Skills

• Proficient verbal, written, and nonverbal communication skills.
• Strong cognitive, organizational, and emotional maturity to manage multiple stressors and challenges.
• Experience handling patients who may be verbally or physically agitated.
  
  

Qualifications

• Valid LPN or RN licensure in Missouri is required.
• An Associate's degree in nursing is mandatory; a Bachelor's degree in nursing is preferred.
• A minimum of one year of psychiatric experience is required, with a background in hospital or acute care settings preferred.
