Job Summary:

Under the direction of the Vice President Managed Markets & Strategy, the Director Managed Markets will play a vital role in overseeing and managing Vital Care’s regional payor contracts. This position involves ensuring high-quality care while effectively managing costs through the coordination and negotiation of contracts with local, regional and national Payor organizations. The Director Managed Markets will be responsible for securing necessary Managed Care contracts to support the local franchise locations. The position will also be responsible for developing and implementing strategic initiatives that can be launched to the franchises.

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Secure new payor contracts for the local franchise locations
  • Work with marketing to develop materials and educational pieces to provide sales for field marketing efforts.
  • Collaborate with cross functional teams to announce and implement new agreements for impacted locations.
  • Ensure the Revenue Cycle teams are aware and provide necessary documents to set up payor and educate the locations on specific billing practices.
  • Manage day-to-day oversight/management of the assigned payor contracts
  • Develop and enhance Payor relationships.
  • Communicate pull-through programs to franchises and their sales teams.
  • AR management in collaboration with the Revenue Cycle team.
  • Monitor and evaluate managed care contracts, performance, and reimbursement rates to identify areas of opportunity.
  • Interface with executive leadership to provide regular updates, reports and recommendations related to Managed Care sales and operations.


Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Experience in managed care or healthcare administration.
  • Strong negotiation and contract management skills.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Solid understanding of contract terms, fee schedule, and credentialing/re-credentialing with payers.
  • Must have strong verbal and written communication skills and the ability to communicate effectively with various stakeholders.
  • Be a self-starter who is accountable and a person who is open to new ideas; and a creative and flexible individual who is comfortable working in a fast-paced environment.
  • Possess the personal characteristics of professionalism, credibility, commitment to high standards, innovation, discriminating judgment, and accountability.
  • Must be able to handle multiple tasks and priorities.
  • Strong leadership and negotiation skills. Knowledge of managed care contracting rates for network providers, services, and facilities.
  • Ability to operate well under high-stress conditions and be extremely organized, paying high attention to detail.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Proficient in relevant software applications and systems.


Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree.
  • Minimum of 3 years proven experience in strategic selling.
  • Understanding of managed care principles, policies and procedures.
  • Ability to lead a team.
