A DAY IN THE LIFE
This position is responsible for accurately and timely processing the US payroll and serves as an in-house expert on Montrose US benefits programs and administers regular benefits-related tasks. The Analyst is a problem-solver, system thinker and provides excellent customer service to internal customers and payroll and benefits vendors. Assists with completing pre-acquisition and post-acquisition tasks related to payroll and benefits.
Benefits Administration
Assist in the administration of health, dental, vision, life insurance, and other employee benefit programs.
Assist with employee benefits inquiries and provide guidance on benefits options and eligibility, providing excellent customer service and clear communication to employees about their benefits options, eligibility, and plan details.
Maintain leave of absence records, including FMLA, disability, and other statutory leaves and provide support for compliance with federal and state regulations.
Assist with the administration of the company’s 401(k) retirement plan, including employee enrollments, changes, withdrawals, as well as transmitting employee payroll contributions for 401(k), FSA, and HSA accounts.
Administers vendor billing including reconciliation, validation, and payment processing. Resolves discrepancies with carriers and payroll.
Support the coordination and completion of 401(k) audits, including gathering and organizing documentation and responding to auditor requests.
Assist in the integration of benefits programs during mergers, acquisitions, or other corporate transactions.
Manage full payroll cycle for non-exempt and exempt employees
Assist with US payroll cycle for non-exempt and exempt employees.
Responsible for monitoring all tasks necessary to accomplish Montrose’s payroll processing objectives, including relationships with external auditors and state and federal agencies.
Analyzes, prepares and inputs payroll data to produce accurate and timely payroll, and ensures compliance with all applicable state and federal wage and hour laws.
Prepares monthly, quarterly and year-end reports (gross payroll, hours worked, vacation accrual, tax deductions, benefit deductions, etc.) for management, certified payroll, multi-site reporting, etc.
Process off cycle terminated employees’ final payments.
Facilitates management and employee understanding of payroll procedures and assists with resolving payroll discrepancies.
NECESSARY QUALIFICATIONS

Proven work experience as a payroll and benefits administrator or similar role
3+ years in payroll processing and benefits management
Knowledge of government regulations as they apply to payroll, benefits, and company policies.
Experience using Workday and ADP (preferred)
Extensive knowledge of Excel and other Microsoft Office applications
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Ability to interface with cross-functional teams and all levels of personnel/management
Strong problem solving and analytical skills
Excellent organization and time/project management skills
Ability to act in a professional manner, including exercising discretion, judgment and extreme confidentiality due to access to employee data
Able to work independently and manage multiple responsibilities (i.e. self-starter, self-motivated)
