Lead Incident Management and Operational Excellence: Overhaul the incident management process and drive continuous improvement to ensure high standards of reliability and performance.
Drive Business-Critical Outcomes: Define and measure key performance metrics, such as SLAs and Mean Time Between Failures (MTBF), using those metrics to identify trends and measure the impact on the business.
Refine and Document Processes: Develop and maintain up-to-date operational procedures, including runbooks, to adapt to evolving needs.
Proactively Manage Risks and Failures: Anticipate system failures through practices like chaos engineering and tabletop exercises, and establish processes to learn from operational incidents.
Build a Collaborative Culture: Foster strong relationships within the team and across departments while cultivating a communicative, supportive, and results-oriented culture.
Be a Foundational Leader: Shape the direction and long-term impact of the team as a critical pillar of TCGPlayer’s technical operations.
A bachelor’s degree in a technical field or equivalent experience; advanced degree or certifications are a plus.
5 years of experience in system administration, infrastructure engineering, or similar roles.
At least 2 years of management experience, with a proven track record of building and leading successful teams.
Experience with Windows and Linux environments, including scripting (PowerShell, Python) and entry-level database management (e.g., Microsoft SQL Server).
Knowledge of cloud platforms, particularly AWS, at an entry to intermediate level.
Experience with containerization technologies including Kubernetes.
Familiarity with software engineering principles and practices.
