Job description

Job Summary:

The Quality Assurance (QA) member assists in creating, executing, and documenting the tests necessary to ensure software applications meet requirements (functional and non-functional) and that defects are identified and logged. The work of the Quality Assurance (QA) member is performed under the guidance of the Quality (QA) Consultant or a Group Lead.  This role ensures that quality standards are met and adhered to by using their knowledge of quality assurance methodology, tools, and techniques.  The Quality Assurance (QA) member will resolve, document and report to management all identified quality problems.

Essential Functions: In addition to working as prescribed in our Performance Factors specific responsibilities of this role include:

  • Exceptional at all duties below the level of Quality Analyst Analyst.
  • Ability to work with developers to explain defects and recommend possible solutions to BA's.
  • Working knowledge across the product (e.g. web and legacy product development).
  • Ability to create and execute more complex test cases aligned with product design and functionality given the requirements.
  • Base knowledge and understanding of SQL and data extraction tools as appropriate to platform.
  • Completes work in a timely manner.
  • Ability to accurately and efficiently setup and breakdown test environments as appropriate to platform.
  • Ability to understand and execute workflow testing scenarios covering both negative and positive outcomes.
  • Takes initiative when presented with a problem or challenge and sees it through to resolution.
  • Proactive in resolving conflicts that are impeding QA work.    
  • Shows willingness and ability to serve as a resource to other team members.
  • Demonstrates significant software application knowledge. 
  • May serve as a mentor for other QA by sharing their experience and expertise.
  • May review test plans and validates test cases.
  • May execute, review results from and write automated tests as appropriate to platform.

Minimum Requirements:

Education/Experience/Certification Requirements

  • Excellent communication (written and oral) and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong organizational, multi-tasking, and time-management skills.
  • Must be detail oriented and able to follow through on issues to resolution.
  • Must be able to act both independently and as a team member.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in computer science or course work emphasis in programming and/or system design.
  • 2 to 8 years of experience in the field.
  • Experience on an Agile team producing web-based, n-tier applications.
  • Strong computer skills, general knowledge of SQL databases and familiarity with QA test management applications such as Qmetry, TestRail, XRAY.
  • Knowledge of the healthcare industry.
