Who you are:

The School Sales Specialist plays a critical role in supporting the overall success of the CIEE High School Sales team. This dynamic and adaptable individual will contribute to team goals by prospecting new schools, supporting existing accounts, and filling in for vacant Sales Manager positions as needed. You seamlessly transition from owning a sales territory during a staff vacancy to supporting the entire team with prospecting and cold calls. You generate enthusiasm for high school study abroad across constituents, i.e. schools, alumni, program leaders, and district heads. This will be done through a high volume of virtual and in-person presentations to all advocate groups. You command a room when presenting to high schoolers. The ideal candidate is a highly motivated and results-oriented individual with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

What you’ll do

Team Support:

  • Fill in for vacant Sales Manager positions: When a Sales Manager position is vacant, fully assume the responsibilities of that territory, including managing existing accounts, growing new business, and supporting Enrollment Coordinators.
  • Prospecting and lead generation: Conduct high-volume prospecting activities, including cold calling, emailing, and using CRM tools to identify and qualify potential new school partners. Exceed weekly targets for meetings booked as a result of your outreach.
  • Event Support: Significant domestic travel to support in-person promotional events, including student facing presentations, college fairs, teacher conferences, and school visits.
    • Deliver engaging and informative presentations to prospective students, parents, and educators.
    • Be available for last-minute travel requests to fill staffing needs at events.
    • Meet or exceed open application and lead generation goals at all events.
  • Virtual Presentations: Host and deliver high-quality virtual webinars for educators, providing valuable information about CIEE programs and fostering interest in study abroad.

Relationship Building:

  • Foster ongoing relationships with principals, teachers, counselors, and district administrators at existing and prospective schools. Take meticulous notes in the CRM system to ensure smooth communication across the team.
  • Build new relationships with prospective partner organizations and educators. Build credibility and trust in CIEE.
  • Generate excitement within school communities through regular contact as students prepare to travel.
  • Provide direct customer service to students and parents during critical times in the enrollment process.

Administrative Duties:

  • Maintain accurate records of school communication, activities, and school relationship statuses in our CRM system (Salesforce).
  • Submit accurate and timely expense reports related to business travel.

Professional Development:

  • Champion CIEE at regional and national educational conferences and trade shows.
  • Promote professional development opportunities available through CIEE to high school teachers and administrators.
  • Participate in annual in-person sales training(s).

What you’ll bring:

  • Bachelor's degree (or international equivalent).
  • Minimum of 4 years of sales experience, or study abroad industry experience.
  • Experience with high volume of sales outreach, with success in converting customer leads to partner status.
  • Knowledge of the travel and/or work abroad industry is a bonus.
  • Experience working in or with K-12 public or private schools is a plus.
  • An enthusiastic commitment to education and personal belief in the power of bilingualism, cultural competency, global citizenship, and how studying abroad is an integral part of achieving these objectives.
  • Ability to use a CRM system to organize and prioritize your sales pipeline. Prior experience in Salesforce is a plus.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including a proven ability to dynamically present to large groups.
  • Willingness to be a flexible team player, ready to jump in and do whatever it takes to get students prepared to travel.
  • Eagerness to travel extensively within your territory during the September – January selling Season.
  • Managerial experience is a plus.
  • Ability to embrace CIEE’s Core Values (Excellence, Integrity, Respect, Inclusion, and Problem Solving) and culture.
