As a UX Researcher at Raintree, you’ll play a key role in driving insights that directly shape the design and experience of our products, ensuring that our solutions meet the needs of both healthcare providers and their patients. You’ll have the opportunity to influence the entire product strategy, translating research insights into actionable opportunities that improve both user experience and business outcomes. This is a pivotal role, leading the way in how we embed user experience research into design and drive meaningful impact across the product life cycle.

Key Responsibilities
  • Drive Strategic and Actionable Product Insights: Develop a deep understanding of our customers by identifying their needs, pain points, and opportunities through diverse research methods (qualitative, quantitative, or behavioral). Deliver research that uncovers actionable insights that guide design decisions and drives action.
  • Collaborate Closely with Cross-Functional Team: Partner with Designers, Product Managers, Engineers, and other business stakeholders to provide actionable insights, inform new product and feature development, validate concepts, and conduct usability testing.
  • Establish and Scale UX Research: Work directly with the Director of User Experience Design to establish impactful research practices and processes within the Product organization, ensuring research is embedded in the product development cycle with strategies that support long-term product visions.
  • Lead UX Research and Testing Activities: Strategize, create, and drive comprehensive research plans, clearly outlining research goals, hypotheses, and assumptions. Execute UX research and testing activities using qualitative research methodologies to validate new experiences and improvements of existing experiences.
  • Present Insights and Recommendations: Effectively present compelling insights and recommendations to multiple teams and leaders across the organization, leveraging strong storytelling skills to drive customer-centric decision-making.
Minimum Requirements
  • 5+ years of experience in a UX Research role, preferably with experience working within healthcare or a similarly complex domain.
  • Relevant degree preferred (Human-Computer Interaction, Psychology, Sociology, Communication, Information Science); advanced degree desired. Extensive experience may be substituted for education.
  • Proven expertise in a variety of research methods including usability testing, ethnographic studies, interviews, surveys, and data analysis.
  • Strong analytical skills to interpret findings, identify trends, and generate actionable insights.
  • Exceptional storytelling and communication skills, with the ability to clearly articulate research findings and recommendations to diverse stakeholders.
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple research projects in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
  • Self-starter mentality with strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work autonomously.
  • Experience with UX research tools and software (e.g., UserTesting, Maze, Dovetail, etc.). Knowledge of Figma or similar design tools preferred to ensure seamless collaboration with Designers.
Preferred Skills
  • Comfortability with qualitative and market research methodologies.
  • Experience with healthcare IT systems such as EHRs/EMRs, patient portals, or clinical workflows.
  • Experience collaborating in a cross-functional team, especially in an Agile environment.
  • Familiarity with HIPAA regulations or other healthcare privacy and security requirements.
