What the role entails:

Some of the key responsibilities of our Trademark Legal Advisor will be: 

  • Manage a trademark portfolio and will be responsible for all trademark, domain and copyright-related activities for multiple business segments, including training on trademark law, branding, risk assessments and clearances, prosecution in various territories, maintenance and enforcement, in a fast-paced environment.
  • Actively manage the company’s trademarks, copyright and domains, in collaboration with external counsel and internal stakeholders, including maintaining the company’s trademarks, conducting trademark searches, and providing opinions regarding trademarks and copyright.
  • Gain a solid understanding of Play’n GO’s intellectual property, products and businesses, goals and challenges, and successfully execute appropriate IP strategies, procedures to achieve those goals and minimise those challenges, as well as to protect, develop and maintain the worldwide intellectual property rights of Play’n GO.
  • Willing work on the smallest and simplest tasks including administrative tasks, as well as the most complex, IP matters faced by Play’n GO.
  • Manage and assist external counsel on trademark, copyright, domain and related matters litigation, including oppositions before various trademark offices.
  • Review and manage outside counsel work to ensure the work, methodology, strategy and costs meet expectations.
  • Trains members of the business in IP matters and best practices.
  • Conduct searches and work on IP management tools.
  • Draft and negotiates IP-related agreements (e.g., licensing or collaboration agreements).

  • IP/TM lawyer with a minimum of 4 years PQE experience 
  • We are looking for a qualified trademark practitioner in Malta or willing to relocate to Malta
  • Ability to work under fast-paced conditions
  • Ability to make decisions and use good judgement
  • Ability to prioritise various duties and multitask as required
