We are looking for our Waste Water Treatment Plant Lead M/F/X for our Greenfield Project in Germany. You are responsible to ensure that the system complies with environmental regulations, optimizes water reuse, and minimizes the plant’s environmental impact.
This is a remote role for the first months, where you will be working from home. Afterwards you will work on site with the project team. You will report to the Engineering Lead for the Greenfield project. Join this exciting assignment for three years.
Key responsibilities:
- You ensure the treatment system can handle the plant’s specific effluent characteristics, including fats, oils, starches, and other organic materials.
- You optimize the treatment process for water reuse, ensuring sustainability and cost-efficiency
- You ensure the wastewater treatment system complies with all local, regional, and international environmental regulations related to effluent discharge and water quality standards.
- You maintain a close working relationship with environmental regulatory bodies to obtain necessary permits and ensure compliance during the construction and operational phases.
- You develop strategies to improve water efficiency in the production process, promoting water conservation and minimizing waste.
- You work with the engineering and production teams to implement solutions for reducing water consumption, recycling water, and minimizing waste effluence.
- You ensure the proper chemical treatment processes (e.g., pH control, coagulation, flocculation, biological treatment) are in place to handle the specific wastewater composition.
- You manage the procurement and use of chemicals required for wastewater treatment, ensuring environmental safety and regulatory compliance.
Qualifications:
- You have strong knowledge of wastewater treatment technologies (e.g., activated sludge, anaerobic digestion, membrane bioreactors).
- You are an expert in water reuse technologies and zero-liquid-discharge strategies.
- You can design and operate chemical and biological wastewater treatment processes
- You are familiar with wastewater treatment modeling tools and software
- You are experienced in monitoring systems for effluent quality and compliance with environmental regulations.
- You have in-depth knowledge of local, regional, and international environmental regulations governing wastewater treatment and effluent discharge.
- You understand sustainability practices and water conservation techniques in industrial processes.
