Job description

Do you have a passion for automation and building clever IT systems?

Then Jobber might be the place for you! We’re looking for an IT Systems Engineer to be part of our Operations team!

Jobber exists to help people in small businesses be successful. We work with small home service businesses, like your local plumbers, painters, and landscapers, to transform the way service is delivered through technology. With Jobber they can quote, schedule, invoice, and collect payments from their customers, while providing an easy and professional customer experience. Running a small business today isn’t like it used to be—the way we consume and deliver service is changing rapidly, technology is evolving, and customers expect more. That’s why we put the power and flexibility in their hands to run their businesses how, where, and when they want!

Our culture of transparency, inclusivity, collaboration, and innovation has been recognized by Great Place to Work, Canada’s Most Admired Corporate Cultures, and more. Jobber has also been named on the Globe and Mail’s Canada’s Top Growing Companies list, and Deloitte Canada’s Technology Fast 50™, Enterprise Fast 15, and Technology Fast 500™ lists. With an Executive team that has over thirty years of industry experience of leading the way, we’ve come a long way from our first customer in 2011—but we’ve just scratched the surface of what we want to accomplish for our customers.

The team:

The IT team is one of the most cross-functional teams here at Jobber. We’re focused on building systems, offices, and processes that scale as we transform our industry.

Our guiding mission is to support our entire team through the use of technology and supreme customer service. We need to make sure all our systems stay ahead of the curve and we’re always building better ways for our employees to do their best work. This applies to you as well - through dedicated feedback, continuous 1:1’s, and endless learning opportunities, we want to accelerate your career too!

The role:

Reporting to the Senior Manager, IT, as the IT Systems Engineer II you recognize the advantage building automations to solve problems and repetitive tasks. You’ll be configuring integrations and deploying automated systems between our internal IT and security tooling. Sometimes we can’t always find a solution that fits, that’s where you come in to build one with the team. You’ll also be collaborating with team members on ticket escalations, mentoring, and researching new tools.

The IT Systems Engineer II will:

  • Think outside the traditional legacy IT ways of doing things, designing everything to scale.
  • Collaborate with our teams to identify gaps in their workflows to reduce operational tasks.
  • Identify opportunities for automation, and build out solutions using a variety of tools and methods
  • Help with escalated tickets from our team.
  • Assist in researching and deploying new tools or platforms.

To be successful, you should have:

  • 4-5+ years in a Systems Administrator role, preferably in a Mac OS environment.
  • Experience with common SaaS applications such as Okta, Google Workplace, Slack, Atlassian, etc.
  • Familiarity with a common scripting language (eg. Python, Shell Scripts, etc.)
  • Familiarity with public cloud providers such as AWS or GCP.

It would be really great (but not a deal-breaker!) if you had:

  • Experience building automation related to Identity and Access Management.
  • Experience with MDM platforms (ie. Jamf, Kandji, Mosyle).
  • Experience with Cisco Meraki or Fortinet.

All interviews are currently being conducted virtually - via phone or video.
