Department of Revenue is recruiting for multiple Public Service Representative 3 (PSR3) positions. We are looking for talented, detail-oriented individuals to join our Personal Tax & Compliance Division in the Tax Services Units.  These positions are headquartered in our Salem office; however, the successful candidates may be eligible for in state hybrid work.  Hybrid work consists of performing duties onsite in a standard office environment and working remotely.  The initial training will be on-site for up to six weeks.
In order to be considered for Department of Revenue recruitments, you must reside within the state of Oregon. Current Revenue employees who live outside of Oregon may apply and will be considered.

What You Will Be Doing
Below is a sampling of job duties. It is not meant to encompass all duties.
  • Aids the public and other employees through phone, mail, email and occasionally in person on the various tax programs administered by the Department.
  • Educates and directs public to resources on rules, laws, policies and procedures tax programs administer by Department of Revenue.
  • Explains billings, sends financial statement/tax documents, processes payments, notates Gentax accounts of interaction details including resolution/no resolution.
  • Answers miscellaneous questions relating to withholding, Other Agency Accounts, including ordering of forms, updating addresses and accounts on the terminal, explaining the revenue/employment combined form for reporting; various property tax programs; form and publication orders; gift and inheritance tax; sales tax; corporation tax; various administrative questions, etc.

This Is What You Need To Qualify

Two years of experience in customer service. One year of which must have included explanation of rules, regulations, and policies and responsibility for dealing with unique or unusual situations.

The ideal candidate will possess the following desired skills and attributes:
  • Experienced customer service representative.
  • Experience working in a call center or high-volume customer service environment
  • Accountable with time and commitment.
  • Detail oriented.
  • Sound judgement and decision-making skills while prioritizing workload to meet deadlines.
  • Ability to work independently.

  • The salary listed is the non-PERS qualifying salary range. If the successful candidate is PERS qualifying, the salary range will reflect the additional 6.95%.
