Position Overview:

The Loan Officer Assistant is responsible for accurately setting up new purchase applications, issuing pre-approval letters, and working with internal and external partners to ensure a positive customer experience and facilitate timely loan closings. This position operates within Eastern Standard Time Zone working hours to support the East Coast region.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Contact newly received applications assigned by the LO; onboard newly received contracts and prepare for LO consultation calls.
  • Review 1003 with the borrower(s) and request other specific documents for review.
  • Provide updates to the respective Realtor partners on progress as needed.
  • Understand and research investor guidelines and stay up to date in program changes.
  • Effectively communicate pre-approval parameters established, to the borrower(s), supplement pre-approval letter with any pertinent documents.
  • Provide a courtesy phone call to the referring Realtor following issuance; ensure important details of the pre-approval are communicated to the Realtor partner as applicable.
  • Complete rush pre-approval requests when needed.
  • Review documents and entire loan files and prevent issues by highlighting deficiencies and notifying the mortgage loan officer and/or loan processor.
  • Communicate internally with the processing team to fully understand all required conditions.
  • Attend weekly branch pipeline meetings and complete daily touch bases to ensure all required objectives are being met.
  • Proactively contact the borrower(s), and the borrower(s)' Attorney and Real Estate Agent, in advance of any mortgage contingency expirations, to request any necessary extension.
  • Review closing disclosures and compare to the original loan estimates for accuracy.
  • Perform pre-closing phone call prior to the closing date when applicable, and funding phone calls to the borrower and Real Estate Agents; answer post-closing and/or funding questions.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • NMLS License Required under the S.A.F.E. Act of 2008.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 5 years of experience in processing, underwriting, origination, or a combination.
  • Proficient in DU/DO and LP.
  • Proficient with all major investor guidelines.
  • Proficient in Loan Origination Systems (i.e. Encompass Ellie Mae, Calyx Point, etc.).
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and OneNote).
  • Excellent attention to detail, leadership, communication and customer service skills.
  • Excellent organizational and prioritization skills.

Pay Range:

  • Hourly Rate: $25.00 - $28.00
  • Bonus: This position is bonus plan eligible.

The posted pay range considers a wide range of compensation factors, including candidate background, experience and work location, while also allowing for salary growth within the position.
