About the Role

We are seeking a highly strategic and results-oriented Business Strategy and Operations Lead to support the Chief People Officer (CPO) and the People team in executing on key initiatives, driving organizational goals, and optimizing team operations. The Business Strategy and Operations Lead will serve as a trusted advisor to the CPO, ensuring alignment across People programs, improving operational efficiency, and enabling effective communication across the organization. This role requires an individual with exceptional organizational, leadership, and problem-solving skills, and the ability to manage complex projects while working across multiple business units.

Responsibilities

  • Strategic Support to the CPO:

    • Act as the right-hand to the Chief People Officer, providing high-level strategic, operational, and administrative support.

    • Serve as a thought partner to the CPO, offering insights on key organizational priorities, and helping to shape the People strategy and vision.

    • Ensure seamless communication between the CPO and senior leaders across the organization, translating strategic goals into actionable plans.

  • CPO Engagements and Communications:

    • Leads executive-level communication with a variety of internal audiences, including across the CPO leadership team, Board, and Talent and Compensation Committee.

    • Focuses on improving employee engagement to drive impactful internal and external comms, messaging, content for team meetings, all-hands and other events. 

    • Facilitate executive engagement with customers, business partners, suppliers, ensuring the right level of involvement of leaders in key meetings, communications, and events.

    • Leverage executive, customer, partner, and employee surveys and other feedback sources to drive continuous improvement across all communication efforts.
       

  • Program & Project Management:

    • Lead and manage cross-functional People initiatives from inception to execution, driving alignment across teams and ensuring on-time delivery.

    • Oversee the development and tracking of key People team projects, ensuring objectives and timelines are clearly defined and met.

    • Partner with leadership to identify and prioritize People-related initiatives that will have the most significant impact on the business.

  • Operational Efficiency & Process Improvement:

    • Evaluate and improve internal processes within the People function to increase operational efficiency and effectiveness.

    • Ensure that key meetings, processes, and decision-making frameworks are efficient and aligned with organizational goals.

    • Implement systems to monitor progress, measure outcomes, and identify areas for continuous improvement within the People team.

  • Leadership Alignment & Communication:

    • Serve as a liaison between the CPO and other leaders across the organization to ensure alignment and collaboration on key people initiatives.

    • Prepare and deliver materials for executive meetings, including presentations, reports, and strategic updates, that align with organizational priorities.

    • Support the CPO in stakeholder management, ensuring that important relationships are maintained and key messaging is consistent.

  • People Team Collaboration:

    • Work closely with senior leaders within the People team, including HR, Organizational Development, Talent Acquisition, and Learning & Development, to facilitate cross-functional collaboration.

    • Foster a positive and high-performing team culture, working to create alignment and cohesion across the People function.

    • Coordinate with other departments and business units to ensure People-related initiatives are well integrated into broader organizational goals.

  • Business Operations:

    • Serves as the strategic advisor to the CPO and execute the RoB, which includes planning, meetings, execution, and communication cycles that help align teams, track progress, and ensure everyone is working towards common goals.

    • Plans and executes offsite leadership meetings, helping build and deploy short- and long-term business strategies and KPI’s. 

    • Executes business plans to ensure continuous operations in both normal and adverse conditions.

    • Directs organization-level projects/programs to meet our dynamic business environment. These will include managing complex business changes, organizational transformation, validation and testing of company contingency / disaster recovery plans.

  • Confidentiality & Problem Solving:

    • Maintain the highest level of confidentiality when dealing with sensitive matters related to executive leadership, strategic priorities, and company operations.

    • Proactively address challenges, identify solutions, and escalate issues to the CPO as needed to ensure continuous progress on key priorities.

  • Organizational Health:

    • Improves our team culture by understanding current state organizational health, then lead cultural change initiatives to drive continuous improvement.

    • Oversees progress on role-based compliance training and other new training that improves our training completion rates. Ensure a healthy compliance scorecard for the organization.

  • Analytics:

    • Financial management 

    • Own and manage insights for Executive Level communication

Requirements for the Role

  • 7+ years of experience in a strategic, leadership, or operations-focused role, with a strong background in People/HR operations, business operations, or program management.

  • Proven ability to manage cross-functional teams, complex projects, and drive initiatives to successful completion.

  • Exceptional organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills with a proven ability to influence and build strong relationships at all levels.

  • A strategic thinker with the ability to synthesize information, make data-driven decisions, and recommend actions that align with business goals.

  • Strong business acumen and a deep understanding of People function dynamics (HR, talent management, organizational effectiveness, etc.).

  • Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.

  • High level of integrity, discretion, and professionalism in handling confidential information.

  • Bachelor's degree required; advanced degree or MBA preferred.

We take into account an individual’s qualifications, skillset, and experience in determining final salary. This role is eligible for health insurance, life insurance, retirement benefits, participation in the company’s equity program, paid time off, including vacation and sick leave. The actual offer will be at the company’s sole discretion and determined by relevant business considerations, including the final candidate’s qualifications, years of experience, skillset, and geographic location. The expected salary range for this position is: 

$146,761 - $172,660 - $207,192 (National)

$164,900 - $194,000 - $232,800 (New York)
