Scopely is looking for a Staff Server Engineer, Infrastructure to join our Monopoly GO! Game team on a hybrid basis from our Culver City studio, or remotely within the US.

Monopoly GO! is our new casual game and a key franchise that has just become Scopely’s largest game, enjoyed by millions of players. The team is based in Europe and the US, and works every day to create captivating new experiences for our players.   
What You Will Do
Reporting to our Director of Engineering, Infrastructure, your role as a Staff Server Engineer, Infrastructure would be to provide the technical expertise and skills to architect, implement and maintain a wide variety of systems that sits at the foundation of our game. Responsibilities will include:
  • Design and implement robust systems capable of handling increasing player loads and supporting the exponential growth of our user base. Ensure infrastructure is optimized to meet the demands of a dynamic, real-time gaming environment.
  • Provide a comprehensive platform that enables multiple teams to build, iterate, and deploy features efficiently on top of a reliable infrastructure foundation.
  • Establish and maintain comprehensive disaster recovery plans, ensuring critical systems can be quickly restored in the event of disruptions, minimizing downtime and impact on players.
  • Integrate best practices in security across architecture and system designs, ensuring the infrastructure is protected from emerging threats and adheres to the highest security standards.
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams, including game development and Live Operations, to ensure the infrastructure aligns with team needs and prioritizes the most critical aspects of the game experience.
  • Improve monitoring and observability tools to provide real-time visibility into system performance and health. Ensure issues are detected, diagnosed, and resolved promptly to maintain a seamless player experience.
What We’re Looking For   
  • 7+ years managing large-scale, high-availability infrastructure, with experience in gaming or high-scale consumer products.
  • Strong knowledge of distributed systems, reliability patterns, cluster management and observability tools like Datadog, Prometheus or Grafana.
  • Hands-on experience with disaster recovery, resilience planning, and capacity forecasting in cloud environments like AWS or GCP.
  • Demonstrated experience implementing security best practices in cloud-based infrastructure.
  • Ability to align technical goals across teams and effectively articulate complex concepts to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
For candidates in CA, CO, MD, NJ, NY and WA, the annual salary range is $169,00 - $253,00, plus equity, bonus and benefits including healthcare benefits, retirement benefits, pet insurance, paid holidays, paid Scopely free days, and unlimited paid time-off. Base pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
