Location: Danville, IL (In-office, no remote work available)
Work Hours: Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM (1-hour unpaid lunch)
Salary: $18.00 per hour (Hourly – 37.5 hours/week)

As a Mail Services Clerk, you’ll play a crucial role in managing the flow of mail within our office and ensuring smooth operations in a fast-paced, team-driven environment. This role involves more than just pushing a mail cart—using computers, scanners, and other office tools, you will handle tasks like sorting, processing, and delivering mail and packages, along with maintaining logs and supporting administrative functions.

Responsibilities:

As a Mail Services Clerk, you’ll manage and process mail, as well as provide vital support to your team. Here’s how you’ll contribute:

  • Mail Processing: Sort, open, stamp, and record all incoming mail, including checks.
  • Package Management: Log incoming packages and prepare outgoing packages, including UPS and Air shipments.
  • Data Entry: Utilize office tools like computers and scanners to maintain accurate records.
  • Team Support: Collaborate with a team of 4 within the mailroom and back up the switchboard when needed.
  • Log Management: Maintain daily work logs and record postage details.
  • Physical Requirements: Regularly lift and move large mail bins (35-50 lbs) and deliver materials throughout the office.
Qualifications:

Must-Have Skills:

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently with strong organizational abilities.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office (especially Word and Excel).
  • Ability to coordinate and prioritize tasks.
  • Must be a self-starter with a flexible, team-oriented mindset.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.

Nice-to-Have Skills:

  • Prior office experience or familiarity with mailroom operations.

Physical Demands:

  • Ability to sit or stand for up to 7.5 hours at a time.
  • Ability to lift, carry, and move objects weighing 35-50 lbs regularly.
