Overview:

Commercial Trucking Cargo Adjuster

Location: Remote (Work from Home)
Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM 
Salary Range: $60,000 - $75,000 per year

About the Role
We are seeking a Multi-Line Claim Representaive II, Commercial Trucking Cargo Adjuster to join our nationwide claims team, specializing in cargo claims for the commercial trucking and transportation industry. This role involves investigating, evaluating, and resolving cargo claims for a single dedicated account across multiple states. The ideal candidate will bring expertise in commercial trucking operations, cargo liability laws, and exceptional problem-solving skills.

This remote position provides the flexibility to work from home while collaborating with a team of seasoned professionals and contributing to CCMSI’s reputation for outstanding claims management.

Responsibilities:

Claims Investigation:

  • Analyze cargo claims to validate losses and determine liability.
  • Review relevant documentation, including Bills of Lading, delivery receipts, invoices, and photographs.
  • Conduct interviews with shippers, drivers, and other stakeholders to gather facts.

Claims Evaluation:

  • Assess the extent of loss or damage and determine appropriate compensation in compliance with federal and state regulations (e.g., the Carmack Amendment).
  • Identify and pursue subrogation opportunities when applicable.

Claims Resolution:

  • Negotiate settlements with claimants, insurers, and other involved parties.
  • Collaborate with carriers, brokers, and legal teams to resolve disputes efficiently.
  • Clearly communicate claim outcomes to all stakeholders.

Documentation and Reporting:

  • Maintain accurate and detailed records of investigations, decisions, and settlements.
  • Prepare reports for clients and carriers, ensuring compliance with timelines and guidelines.

Regulatory and Industry Compliance:

  • Stay informed about cargo liability laws, industry trends, and regulatory updates.
Qualifications:

What You Bring to the Table...

 

Required Skills & Experience:

  • Adjuster’s License (required).
  • At least 3 years of experience in cargo claims, insurance adjusting, or a related field.
  • Strong knowledge of commercial trucking operations and cargo liability laws.
  • Proficiency in claims management systems and Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, etc.).
  • Excellent analytical, negotiation, and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple claims and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.

Nice-to-Have Skills:

  • Experience in Commercial Trucking Auto Property Damage (COMP/COLL) claims.
  • Certifications such as AIC (Associate in Claims) or ARM (Associate in Risk Management).
  • Familiarity with multi-state claims and jurisdictional nuances.
