Manager Commodity Indirect Procurement

What will your responsibilities be?

  • Ensure the cost-, quality and time-oriented supply of all Adient Plants with the required goods, materials, equipment’s and services under compliance with the respective business plans, budgets and targets.
  • Design the perfect sourcing footprint for the commodity / sub commodity, define the roadmaps and make it happen
  • Design optimal supply base
  • Control and approval of all strategic advanced and operational purchasing activities and decisions for production within the commodity organization
  • Coordination of purchasing targets with the managing board and the related departments
  • Lead, motivate, support and develop purchasing staff members relating to the Commodity core teams
  • Development, coordination and steering of purchasing strategies for all plants that consume commodities
  • Control and improve purchasing controlling and cost analysis in order to guarantee savings- and cost tracking
  • Support of proper Make or Buy decisions
  • Support efforts concerning supply base rationalization and supplier development
  • Guarantee compliance with BOS, PLUS, POS and SOX procedures
  • Leverage of purchases across all ( C )BU’s
  • Structuring and bundling of global and regional aspects within the Commodity organization
  • Improvement of program-profitability as well as of all purchasing activities for the purposes of continuous improvement through global sourcing, long/life-time reductions etc.


Which qualifications are we looking for in potential employees?

  • Commercial or technical degree
  • Min. 2 - 5 years experience within commodity or strategic purchasing, ideally within automotive industry
  • In depth understanding of purchasing tools and practices
  • Strong interpersonal, negotiation and communication skills
  • Target driven with excellent priority setting skills
  • Prepared to travel short trips (Europe)
  • PC knowledge (MS-Word, Excel, PowerPoint),
  • Controlling and cost analysis knowledge
  • Relevant SAP knowledge
  • Fluent English
