Job description

This is a remote position.

Our client is seeking an experienced Accountant (CA / non-CA) with at least 15 years of experience in the clearing and forwarding industry to assist with financial due diligence for an acquisition project. This is a fully-remote, flexible, independent contracting role that offers 4 to 8 hours of work per day, with the flexibility to work during hours that best suit you. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in finance and auditing, with deep knowledge of the clearing and forwarding industry’s financial structure and practices.

Responsibilities:

Analyse financial statements and documents related to the acquisition
Assist with financial due diligence and provide recommendations on risk factors
Review financial systems, accounts, and financial processes within the clearing & forwarding industry
Collaborate with other departments and legal teams to ensure financial integrity
Prepare reports and presentations for stakeholders
Offer expert financial advice and guidance during the acquisition process

Requirements

At least 15 years of experience in financial management or accounting, with a strong focus on the clearing and forwarding industry.
Proven experience in financial due diligence, particularly in the context of acquisitions or mergers.
BCom Degree in Accounting and a professional qualification such as CA(SA), SAICA, SAIPA, or ACCA.
In-depth knowledge of financial systems, accounting software (e.g. Xero), and financial reporting standards.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to assess complex financial data.
Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
