Job description

Hi, we’re TechnologyAdvice.

At TechnologyAdvice, we pride ourselves on helping B2B tech buyers manage the complexity and risk of the buying process. We are a trusted source of information for tech buyers, delivering advice and facilitating connections between our buyers and the world’s leading sellers of business technology.

Headquartered in Nashville, Tennessee, we are a remote-first company with more than 20 digital publications and over 500 global team members in the US, UK, Singapore, Australia, and the Philippines. We’re proud to have been repeatedly recognized as one of America’s fastest growing private companies by Inc., as well as a Tennessee top workplace. We work hard each day and have fun, too, with monthly virtual events, recreational slack channels, and the occasional costumed dance from our CEO.

All positions are open to remote work unless otherwise specified in the requirements below.

The opportunity

Join The 615 Group as a trusted Legal Counsel and key advisor to our Founder & CEO, leadership team, and key stakeholders. This is a unique opportunity to shape the legal and strategic direction of a diverse, high-growth organization. As the sole legal professional in our ambitious team, you will take ownership of all legal matters across our businesses, ensuring seamless operations and driving long-term success.
In this hands-on role, you will oversee and manage commercial contracts, employment law matters, mergers and acquisitions, litigation, and regulatory compliance. You’ll also play a critical role in protecting the company’s interests, safeguarding intellectual property, and providing practical legal guidance to support innovation and growth.

Location: United States, on-site in Nashville, TN

What you'll do
  • Be a trusted advisor: Provide actionable legal counsel to the Founder & CEO, leadership team, and key stakeholders, supporting strategic business decisions.
  • Shape deals and partnerships: Draft, review, and negotiate contracts, including sales agreements, vendor contracts, partnership agreements, and M&A deals, ensuring alignment with company goals.
  • Drive compliance excellence: Ensure adherence to local, national, and international laws, with a focus on data privacy and governance, to maintain compliance and mitigate risk.
  • Manage risk and disputes: Lead all aspects of litigation, collaborate with external counsel, and proactively develop strategies to protect the company’s interests.
  • Safeguard intellectual property: Oversee and manage the company’s intellectual property portfolio, including patents, trademarks, and copyrights.
  • Lead M&A activities: Guide due diligence, deal structuring, negotiation, and post-transaction integration for mergers and acquisitions.
  • Collaborate across teams: Partner with HR to address employment law matters, including employee relations, policy compliance, and dispute resolution.

Who you are
  • An experienced legal professional with at least 5+ years of legal experience in law firms or in-house roles.
  • Skilled in drafting and negotiating contracts with strong expertise in employment law, M&A, litigation, and compliance.
  • Knowledgeable in global compliance, data privacy, and regulatory requirements with the ability to guide leadership through complex legal landscapes.
  • A trusted advisor and effective communicator, capable of building strong relationships with executives and cross-functional teams.
  • A self-starter who thrives in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment and is comfortable being hands-on as the sole legal resource.
  • Reside in or are willing to relocate to Nashville, Tennessee to collaborate on-site with our team.

What we offer you
  • Career Growth: Advance with mentorship programs, leadership academies, and opportunities to shape company culture and DEI initiatives.
