Job description

Salary: £30,000 - £32,000

Why Midnite?

Midnite is a next-generation betting platform that is built for today’s fandom. We are a collective of engineers and designers who all share a passion for building the best sportsbook & casino experience possible, allowing our fans to feel closer to the games they love through the rush of winning money.

Unlike the alternatives, Midnite doesn't feel like a website built two decades ago. Instead, it's a cutting-edge creation, designed and constructed from the ground up with the latest technologies. Crafting an experience that's truly intuitive, immersive, and immediately understandable is no walk in the park, but we thrive on the challenge. We believe we're on the brink of creating something truly awesome.

About you

We are looking for an experienced Senior AFC Officer to play a key role in our Anti-Financial Crime (AFC) Compliance Team, ensuring our financial crime controls remain robust and effective. In this role, you will conduct detailed Source of Funds (SOF) and Enhanced Due Diligence (EDD) investigations on high net worth and high risk customers, contribute to strategic decision-making, and act as a senior point of contact within the team. You will also support colleagues by sharing specialist knowledge, identifying emerging risks, and ensuring our AML framework remains aligned with regulatory requirements and industry best practices.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist the AFC Manager and Team Leads in the daily management of the AFC Compliance function, ensuring operational effectiveness across policies and procedures.
  • Take ownership of complex SOF and EDD investigations, providing detailed risk assessments and ensuring thorough documentation of findings.
  • Monitor and assess the effectiveness of AML controls and systems, proactively identifying areas for enhancement and supporting ongoing improvements.
  • Compile and present management information and risk insights to senior leadership to inform decision-making.
  • Deliver AML and Financial Crime training to new starts, ensuring the team remains well-informed on key compliance risks and regulatory updates.
  • Stay ahead of legislative and regulatory changes, assessing their impact on business operations and advising on necessary adjustments.
  • Act as a key contact for cross-functional teams, providing advice and guidance on AML and financial crime matters.
What We’re Looking For
  • Proven experience in AML/Financial Crime Compliance, particularly in conducting complex SOF and EDD investigations on high-risk or high-value customers.
  • Strong analytical skills, with the ability to assess large volumes of data, detect patterns, and make sound risk-based decisions.
  • High attention to detail and a methodical approach to reviewing customer profiles, transaction activity, and risk indicators.
  • Exceptional communication and relationship-building skills, enabling effective collaboration with internal teams and external stakeholders.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities, work independently, and thrive in a fast-paced environment.
  • Familiarity with AML frameworks, risk-based approaches, and relevant UK regulatory requirements (e.g., FCA, Proceeds of Crime Act, MLRs).
  • Experience with compliance monitoring systems, investigative tools, and financial crime technology is an advantage.
