Job Description:

About the Role

This role supports risk adjustment (Burden of Illness) analytics by leveraging Cityblock data infrastructure to build, maintain and share standard operating metrics, financial models, ad hoc deep dives with key stakeholders. This position is an active thought partner and collaborator with several business areas within Cityblock including BOI Operations, Strategic Finance and the markets. 

Responsibilities 

Data Analysis Leadership:

  • Lead and conduct in-depth analysis of healthcare data to assess the prevalence, impact, and burden of various illnesses.

  • Utilize statistical methods and advanced analytics to derive actionable insights.

Team Collaboration:

  • Collaborate with a cross-functional team, including other analysts, researchers, and healthcare professionals, to ensure comprehensive and accurate data analysis.

  • Participate in team discussions and contribute to the development of analytical approaches.

Strategic Insights:

  • Provide strategic insights based on data analysis to inform healthcare strategy and decision-making.

  • Collaborate with stakeholders to integrate analytics into broader organizational initiatives.

Data Visualization:

  • Develop clear and visually compelling data visualizations to communicate complex analytics findings to technical and non-technical audiences.

  • Utilize visualization tools to enhance the understanding of burden of illness data.

Quality Assurance:

  • Implement and oversee quality assurance measures to ensure the accuracy and reliability of analytics results.

  • Conduct regular reviews and assessments of analytical processes.

Research Integration:

  • Stay informed about the latest research, literature, and industry trends related to the burden of illness.

  • Integrate relevant findings into analytical approaches and recommendations.

Project Management:

  • Manage multiple analytical projects simultaneously, ensuring deadlines are met and deliverables are of high quality.

  • Provide regular updates on project progress to leadership.

Continuous Improvement:

  • Identify opportunities for process improvement and innovation within the burden of illness analytics function.

  • Stay informed about advancements in healthcare analytics methodologies.

Requirements for the Role 

  • Education:

    • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Health Informatics, Epidemiology, Public Health, Statistics, or a related field.

  • Experience:

    • 5+ years of experience in healthcare analytics, with a focus on burden of illness analysis.

    • Proven experience in leading data analysis efforts and providing strategic insights.

  • Analytical Skills:

    • Proficient in statistical analysis and data modeling techniques.

    • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to derive actionable insights from complex healthcare data.

  • Technical Proficiency:

    • Proficient in using data analysis tools and software, such as R, Python, SAS, SQL, or other relevant platforms.

    • Familiarity with data visualization tools.

  • Leadership Skills:

    • Demonstrated leadership skills in guiding and leading data analysis teams.

    • Ability to mentor and support junior analysts.

  • Communication Skills:

    • Excellent communication and presentation skills.

    • Ability to convey complex healthcare analytics findings in a clear and concise manner.

  • Collaboration:

    • Proven ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.

    • Experience working in a collaborative, team-oriented environment.

  • Research Knowledge:

    • Strong knowledge of research methodologies and literature review processes.

  • Project Management:

    • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple data analysis projects simultaneously, from conception to completion.

  • Continuous Learning:

    • Commitment to staying informed about advancements in healthcare analytics and related fields.

  • Risk adjustment

    • Comfortable with HCC and Medicaid (CDPS, 3M CRG) risk adjustment methodologies 

  • Technical 

    • Strong understanding of  SQL and complex query building 

    • Prior experience with data modeling and management

    • Familiarity with data visualization tooling (Looker) to build reports and dashboards for stakeholder consumption

  • Financial knowledge

We take into account an individual’s qualifications, skillset, and experience in determining final salary. This role is eligible for health insurance, life insurance, retirement benefits, participation in the company’s equity program, paid time off, including vacation and sick leave. The actual offer will be at the company’s sole discretion and determined by relevant business considerations, including the final candidate’s qualifications, years of experience, skillset, and geographic location. The expected salary range for this position is: 

$117,000.00 -  $143,000.00 Annually
