The Role
The Wholesale Channel Leader will be responsible for driving the market growth of a key sales channel by leading and supporting a team of regional sales managers and overseeing the retail partner (Boutique Partners) relationships. This role will ensure that wholesale partners are equipped with the necessary tools, resources, processes, and product knowledge to meet and exceed quarterly sales goals. The Sales Leader will act as a trusted expert and advocate for the company's products, building strong, credible relationships with Boutique Partners and key clients in the market to ensure they have the right product displays, materials and training to effectively sell. By providing strategic direction, coaching, and ongoing support, the Sales Leader will foster a collaborative environment that maximizes sales performance and strengthens the company’s position in partner markets.

ResponsibilitiesBusiness Development:Partner Identification and Relationship BuildingIdentifies and pursues new partners in underrepresented territories.Develops and nurtures relationships with existing Boutique Partners (BPs).Works with BP Regional Managers to grow high-potential clients and build client relationships.Cultivates and strengthens relationships to ensure Waterworks is the preferred vendor.
Sales and Marketing StrategySets and drives sales and marketing strategies for Boutique Partner relationships.Collaborates with internal BP Managers for seamless implementation and alignment with regional goals.Conducts regular needs assessments to identify growth opportunities and provide ongoing education and support.
Support and TrainingGuides their team of Regional Managers to ensure Boutique Partners receive necessary training, tools, and resources.Collaborates with the Channel Operations Team to provide additional support as needed.Communicates business strategies and sales outlook by location, providing accurate and timely forecasts.
Lead Management and Conflict ResolutionSources and shares leads through appropriate channels.Resolves cross-over issues per Client Management guidelines.Ensures constant communication and alignment with all channel leaders and cross functional partners.Acts as an escalation point for client issues with Boutique Partners.Works with Client Services Teams to resolve product-related or service concerns.
Operational:Financial and Performance ManagementManages the business unit to achieve a strong return on investment while adhering to budget and financial goals.Owns contract management for the BP network, including new contracts, renewals, and goal tracking.Ensures compliance with the Boutique Partner qualification process.
Process ImprovementDefines, implements, and continuously improves operational processes.Owns the store display roadmap in coordination with store design and construction teams.
Communication and AccountabilityServes as the primary liaison between the corporate departments, partners, and managers.Conducts weekly calls to maintain communication and ensure accountability.Responds promptly to internal communications and requests.Models the Waterworks values.Other accountabilities as assigned.Requirements7+ years of inside/outside sales experience, preferably within a high-end luxury brand environment.Proven success in consistently meeting or exceeding sales targets and quotas.Strong negotiation and deal-closing skills, with the ability to engage key decision-makers.Excellent persuasion, leadership, and motivational abilities to influence and inspire teams and partners.Skilled in assessing needs, coaching, and developing others to drive performance.Comfortable working in an outside field environment, with the flexibility to travel up to 60% of the week.Skilled in working with cross functional partners to run a business and deliver financial goals. Superior communication and listening skills, with the ability to align company products with client needs and offer tailored solutions.Experience developing and collaborating with legal on contracts.Familiarity with plumbing or building industry knowledge.Exceptional time management and organization skills and the ability to prioritize effectively.Highly self-motivated with a strong work ethic and a results-driven mindset.Ability to work independently and take initiative in a fast-paced environment.Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook), CRM.Travel required up to 60%.Waterworks is committed to promoting pay equity. Ability to lift and mobilize small to medium items up to 25 lbs. while utilizing appropriate equipment and techniques. Ability to maneuver effectively around showroom floor, stock room and office. Position could entail periods of standing, twisting, stooping, kneeling, squatting, bending and climbing. Licensed to drive preferred. Ability to travel locally or out of state.
