General Description:

 

The Director of Communications, Europe plays a crucial role in enhancing the company's positive reputation through helping the development and implementing communication strategies for external and internal audiences in Europe. This position also involves coordinating with BeiGene's global offices. Reporting to the Head of Corporate Affairs, Europe, the role requires a comprehensive understanding of responsible communication practices, including media relations, digital communications, and other relevant activities, to support the company's long-term goals.

 

Responsibilities: 

  • Contribute to developing and implementing communication strategies aligned to corporate and brand strategies and within agreed budget and timelines.
  • Collaborate with communications/PR partners to develop and update various communication materials such as corporate resources, media materials, presentations, etc.
  • Create compelling content by working closely with cross-functional teams and external partners to feed global social media and digital channels
  • Support corporate reputation work, including identifying speaking and media opportunities
  • Partner with patient advocacy and policy teams in Europe to provide visibility for their work
  • Coordinate with country corporate affairs leads to streamline and align communications across countries and departments equipping the teams with resources, capabilities and information needed for an efficient and high-performing function
  • Provide support for the preparation of quarterly European Town Halls and the development of internal initiatives.
  • Analyze and assess the effectiveness of communication strategies using appropriate key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics.
  • Build and manage the internal EU Corporate Affairs SharePoint site

Profile:

  • Master’s degree in communications is preferred.
  • Minimum of 10 years of demonstrated experience in communications within the life science or pharmaceutical industry, preferably in a fast-paced setting or agency.
  • Proven track record in developing and executing successful communication initiatives at an international level.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work comfortably in a multicultural environment.
  • Strong organizational capabilities.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and experience in SharePoint site design and maintenance.
  • Job based in Switzerland

 

Qualifications: 

  • Bilingual in English. Excellent English writing and editing skills; German speaking skills advantageous
  • Demonstrated understanding of pharmaceutical regulatory requirements
  • Demonstrated ability in establishing and cultivating effective internal working relationship with cross-functional counterparts
  • Ability to develop and deliver presentations effectively.
  • Strong project management and leadership skills.
  • Understanding of organizational operations, branding, and communication strategy.
  • Digital communication experience desirable
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and processes within a growing organization and fast-paced environment
  • Ability to remain flexible and adapt to a changing environment
  • Ability to deliver in high-pressure situations and with short deadlines
  • Strong ability to demonstrate attention to detail
