POSITION OVERVIEW DESCRIPTION

The LMS Developer will drive the development and maintenance of our Learning Management System. Responsibilities include customizing LMS features, integrating third-party and managing connectors, implementing API calls and WebHooks, where needed, and ensuring the system is user-friendly and efficient. This role will also be responsible for the customization and maintainence of the user interface and will problem-solve any user needs to ensure that the LMS is optimized, organized, and operating efficiently. This role will also perform administrative functions within the LMS to maintain and manage the content libraries and assist in all content and course uploads and organization. 
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Design, develop, and maintain Learning Management Systems (LMS) to meet organizational needs.
  • Customize and configure LMS platforms to support various learning activities and user requirements. Develop and implement new features and functionalities within the LMS. Maintain all configuration of backend infrastructure.
  • Perform regular system updates, backups, and maintance. 
  • Monitor system performance and optimize for efficency and scalability. Regularly monitor new additional fucntionalities available within the LMS and develop them for internal and external use. 
  • Develop and maintain front-end and back-end components using CSS, HTML, JavaScript, and others. 
  • Implement API calls and WebHooks to enhance the systems automation and interoperability between the business. 
  • Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues realted to the LMS. 
  • Onboard and mentor all new internal stakeholders onto the LMS. 
  • Collaborate with Technical Program Specialists, Technical Content Designers, Learning Strategists, and other stakeholders to integrate and implement e-learning solutions.
  • Monitor and manage the data reporting within PowerBI for the Learning & Development Team. Work with the data teams to automate and manage data reporting between the LMS and internal reporting tools. 
  • Assist in the administration of the LMS content, working with team members to upload content and courses, manage content and courses within the system, and maintain content libraries. 
  • Assist in the administration of the LMS operators, working with the LMS provider and program leadership to utilize all features available within the LMS for greater team efficiency, user engagement, and performance. 

ROLE COMPETENCIES AND SKILLS

  • Advanced knowledge of LMS systems and development. 
  • Strong skills in organization and communications.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Proficient in data reporting and data analysis.
  • Proficiency in CSS, HTML, Java, PHP, API Calls, WebHooks. 
  • Stong understanding of e-learning standards, preferred. 
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment. 
  • Knowledge of database management, preferred. 
  • Proficient in PowerBI and other data reporting tools.

REQUIRED WORK EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION

  • Bachelor's degree in related field such as, Information Technology, Educational Technology, Education, Computer Science, or other related field.
  • Advanced experience in LMS Administration and Development is required. 
  • 3+ years in related field.
  • Certifications in LMS systems is preferred.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

  • Ability to sit for long periods, work on a computer with repetitive motions and utilize devices typically found in an office environment.
  • Able to safely lift up to 35 pounds at a time using safe lifting techniques.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with another person.
  • Regular and predictable attendance is required.
  • Ability to work in an office environment as required. 
  • Travel requirements: 5-10% or as required for company needs.
