Business Development Manager (Market Research Company)

 

Overview:

We are seeking an entrepreneurial and result-driven Business Development Manager with a "hunter" mindset to drive client acquisition and revenue growth. The ideal candidate has over 7 years of experience, a proven track record of acquiring clients and delivering projects, and a sense of ownership to contribute to our company's expansion. This is a full-remote, single-contributor role, ideal for a professional who thrives in a dynamic, small-team environment.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Client Acquisition: Proactively identify, approach, and secure new clients with a focus on delivering high-value market research projects.
  • Portfolio Development: Leverage your existing network and develop new partnerships to bring in consistent project opportunities.
  • Project Delivery: Work closely with internal teams to ensure client needs are met and projects are delivered successfully.
  • Market Research Expertise: Understand qualitative research methodologies and align offerings with client requirements.
  • Revenue Targets: Drive sales to achieve an annual target of 15-20 projects with a value range of IDR 2.2M – 3M.
  • Strategic Planning: Develop business plans and case studies to demonstrate the value proposition of our services.
  • Relationship Building: Maintain long-term relationships with clients by ensuring high satisfaction and repeat business.

 

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 7 years of experience in business development, preferably within the market research or related industry.
  • Proven ability to acquire clients independently and manage project pipelines.
  • Entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to work autonomously and exceed targets.
  • Experience working with small to mid-sized companies (10-20 employees).
  • Exceptional communication and negotiation skills with a client-focused approach.
  • Familiarity with qualitative research methods is a strong advantage.
  • Bachelor’s degree; an advanced degree or overseas education is a plus but not required.

 

Compensation & Benefits:

  • Competitive basic salary with a 2.5% commission (gross) from the project value.
  • Flexibility to negotiate commissions if the candidate has a higher basic salary.
  • Additional benefits include full-remote work arrangements.
