About the Role
Nelson is searching for two exceptional Product Managers to join our team and bring the vision for our digital platform, Edwin, to life through exciting enhancements and new development. Both roles will be responsible for guiding the development of software solutions that meet business and customer needs, ensuring technical feasibility and user value in a fast-paced, Agile environment. As a Product Manager, you’ll collaborate closely with engineering, design, and cross-functional teams to drive product delivery from concept to launch.
- The Tools & Infrastructure Product Manager will focus on internal platforms, and systems that support the development, deployment, and scalability of the product.
- The Platform Product Manager will focus on the core platform and its integration with customer-facing features, ensuring the platform supports both internal and external needs.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate closely with the VP, Head of Product, and cross-functional teams to define, validate, and prioritize product features based on user needs and business goals.
- In collaboration with the Sr. Product Manager/Scrum Master, drive product development through the entire lifecycle, from planning to execution, bringing a strong focus on technical requirements and feasibility.
- Utilize your technical expertise to communicate effectively with engineers and other technical team members, ensuring alignment between product goals and development processes.
- Work closely with the Development team to ensure successful delivery of features, proactively identifying technical risks, dependencies, and blockers.
- Manage the product backlog, ensuring that user stories are clear, detailed, and well-prioritized to meet both business needs and technical constraints.
- Coordinate with Development, QA, and Design teams to ensure smooth testing, release cycles, and product delivery.
- Analyze product performance, gather and review user feedback, and continuously iterate on the product to improve its functionality and user experience.
- Apply both a micro- and macro-approach to realizing the vision of Edwin and ensuring consistent alignment with business goals.
- Continuously monitor industry trends and technologies to ensure the product remains competitive and leverages the latest best practices.
Requirements
Must-have:
- 3-5 years of experience as a Product Manager in a SaaS or web-based software development environment.
- Proven experience working with engineering teams, understanding technical specifications, and managing technical product roadmaps.
- Familiarity with web technologies (e.g., databases, APIs, web frameworks) and tools (e.g., Git, Jira, analytics platforms).
- Experience working in environments with Agile methodologies, including backlog grooming, sprint planning, and release management.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a cross-functional environment, balancing the needs of business stakeholders with technical constraints.
- Strong problem-solving skills with an analytical mindset and ability to break down complex technical issues into manageable tasks.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with a keen ability to synthesize, simplify, and clarify complex information to all stakeholders.
- Ability to demonstrate an inspirational, energetic, and hands-on leadership style.
Nice-to-have:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- Previous demonstrated experience as a Product Manager or a similar role in an Education Technology (Ed Tech) company.
- Experience in the K-12 Education sector.
- Agile CSM or CSPO certification.
