As the Marketing Automation Manager for Partner, you’ll be leading a talented team of #humans who play a crucial role in driving Xero’s digital performance, by orchestrating #beautiful experiences to users that truly delight and inspire action.

Your team will be responsible for accelerating growth of, nurturing and delighting our customer base @ Xero, by delivering personalised, fully orchestrated journeys and cross-channel programmes of marketing automation initiatives at scale - ensuring every conversation we have adds value to our relationship.You’ll be a strong team leader, balancing strategy, vision and providing clarity while overseeing tactical execution, and driving operational efficiency. Along with technical platform knowledge to implement best practices, provide guidance to the team and stakeholders. You’ll have your eye on the long-term prize, while constantly learning from live marketing automation performance and driving new initiatives across the business.

You’ll have proven experience in motivating a team of talented individuals, bringing out the best of every #human in your team, supporting and inspiring them to be the best they can while overcoming any challenges that may arise.  You’ll be data-savvy, commercially astute and apt at working with both business and technical stakeholders to drive outcomes that deliver high quality customer conversion and overall market share growth.

  • Stakeholder Management; collaborate with a variety of stakeholders from across the business to identify opportunities for marketing automation to reduce costs, increase performance  and improve efficiencies.
  • Drive team prioritisation to ensure the team is focused on high impactful initiatives that contribute towards business outcomes

  • Marketing Automation:
  • Working with the Lifecycle team to develop the strategy and roadmap for the team to deliver the vision.
  • Provide guidance and advice to colleagues across Xero, on the tooling and use of the platforms (Salesforce Marketing Cloud, Intercom), to ensure ROI is possible and effective processes are in place.
  • Monitoring performance of the journeys, campaigns, reporting within the marketing automation platform and leading initiatives to help drive growth for the business and implement scalable solutions.
  • Continually review the market, trends and new technologies to ensure we remain ahead of the competition in all things within the marketing automation space.
  • Engage with internal consultants, leads and specialists as needed to help accelerate our key initiatives and support the overall delivery of the marketing automation strategy.
  • A deep understanding of what the holistic customer journey is and how it is stitched together across channels & touch-points.
  • To drive best implementation practices within the platform to support future visions and growth.
  • Develop and manage a cross-channel framework to execute campaigns through the most effective channels to reach our audience effectively.

  • Data Driven:
  • Work in collaboration with Technology and Data teams to make data more accessible within Salesforce Marketing Cloud. Rationalise and streamline data processes to increase up-time and decrease the need for third party support
  • Delivering better processes, documentation, and support to build key journeys to support business strategy.
  • Data; take responsibility for understanding and utilising campaign and engagement metrics as well as key data points through different digital marketing channels. Adhere to company privacy and data management principles.
  • Drive initiatives to improve the quality of reporting to ensure optimum set-up, processes and practises to enable marketing to demonstrate and report contribution/ROI for campaigns and key activities.
  • Ensure your team is constantly following a data-driven approach for delivery, are following best practice for experimentation and are contributing to the repository of learnings/outcomes for customer insights.
  • Documentation of marketing automation data, i.e. where it is found and how it can be used, to enable Xero’s global and regional analysts to self-serve and run faster.

  • A solid and demonstrable understanding of personalisation, optimisation and marketing automation strategies including data & systems.

  • Experience:
  • Extensive experience working in a digital marketing environment. 
  • Experience in a leadership role within a customer experience function.
  • A strong background in marketing automation, preferably for Salesforce CRM and Marketing Cloud
  • Experience in digital marketing within a SaaS company is preferred.
  • People Management and team leadership experience.
  • Knowledge of legislation and regulations impacting business.
  • Experience maintaining a backlog and creating and managing a team delivery roadmap
