SEO Specialists on the site transition team are responsible for managing and executing the technical, analytical, and strategic aspects of website transitions to ensure optimal SEO performance. These roles require advanced knowledge of SEO, technical project management, and collaboration with various stakeholders to deliver seamless transitions and maintain long-term site health. The work is integral to preserving and enhancing digital performance during site launches or migrations, as well as ensuring continued success post-launch.
This full time, permanent, remote position based in Costa Rica and does not offer relocation benefits. Job applicants must be located and legally authorized to work in Costa Rica in order to be eligible for consideration.
What your impact will look like here:Site Transition Project Management o Lead and coordinate SEO tasks during site transitions, serving as the main point of contact for SEO-related issues.
o Independently manage and prioritize the structure of work, taking ownership of task triaging, managing project assignments, and overseeing site transition timelines.
o Collaborate with developers, project managers (PMs), and stakeholders to align on project goals and timelines.
o Proactively identify potential risks or issues and develop strategies to mitigate them.
Stakeholder Communication and Collaboration o Communicate technical SEO requirements and recommendations to developers, designers, and PMs in a clear and actionable manner.
o Work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure SEO best practices are incorporated into site development and transition workflows.
o Provide detailed documentation and reports for stakeholders to ensure transparency and accountability.
o Troubleshoot and research complex SEO issues to resolve client questions effectively.
o Simplify and translate technical SEO concepts for non-technical stakeholders, ensuring clarity and understanding.
o Provide training and support on SEO best practices, including QR code and campaign setup, paid media integration, and launch best practices.
Technical SEO Analysis and Implementation o Conduct in-depth requirements gathering for site transitions, including:
Analytics implementation (e.g., GA4, GTM setups). Domain configuration and verification. Unique site setups and considerations. o Draft and deliver technical write-ups and recommendations for SEO best practices tailored to each project.
o Address specialized SEO topics and areas of expertise, including: Web Vitals, Google Search Console, Duplicate Content / Canonicals, Backlinks, GA4, GTM, Developer capabilities and limitations, DNS and domain management, Pixel installation, UTM tracking
Redirect Management o Create comprehensive page redirect mappings to preserve SEO equity.
o Verify proper domain redirects post-launch to ensure functionality and accuracy.
o Conduct quality assurance checks to identify and resolve redirect issues.
SEO Tools Configuration and Monitoring o Set up and configure key SEO tools, including:
Google Analytics 4 (GA4) and Google Tag Manager (GTM). Google Search Console and Bing Webmaster Tools. Submit XML sitemaps to search engines for indexing. Validate CMS settings to ensure compatibility with SEO goals.Site Health and Performance Audits o Conduct thorough scans and audits to identify and resolve:
GTM tags and configurations. Noindex pages. Broken links. Canonicalization issues. o Python scripting and debugging.
o Running REPL scripts and debugging.
o Verify and validate top 250-page redirects to maintain rankings for high-priority pages.
Monitor Core Web Vitals and create dashboards to track performance leveraging Looker Studio.You will love this job if you have:Ability to work on multiple projects or tasks in a deadline-driven environment. Excellent time management and time tracking skills.Passion for search engine marketing, willing to keep abreast of new technologies and changing landscape.1-3+ years of SEO experience.4-year College degree preferred but not required.Knowledge of Google Analytics and/or other analytics tools.Ability to pick up abstract/complex SEO/SEM concepts quickly.Fairly advanced technical acumen and Internet marketing experience.Ability to communicate internally with developers, project managers, and digital marketing experts.Flexibility to change with department as it continues to grow.Ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.Proficiency in providing regular project updates, reporting progress, and communicating effectively about project timelines and any potential challenges.Strong problem-solving communication skills, including the ability to articulate challenges, propose effective solutions, and collaborate with team members to implement resolutions.Demonstrated commitment to staying up to date with relevant trends, tools, best practices, and changes in your field required.Demonstration of innovative thinking and problem-solving skills.Security and Privacy Requirements
