Job description

About CookUnity

Food has lost its soul to modern convenience. And with it, has lost the power to nourish, inspire, and connect us. So in 2018, CookUnity was founded as the first-of-its-kind platform that connects the world with the source of truly great food: chefs. Today, CookUnity delivers 35 million meals a year from the industry’s best chefs to homes all over the country. Fresh. Ready-to-eat. And crafted with the passion that nourishes body and soul.

Unwilling to stop there, CookUnity is expanding beyond delivery to become an ever-innovating marketplace focused on our singular mission: empower Chefs to nourish the world.

If that mission has you hungry in more ways than one, you’ve found the right job posting.

The role:

The CookUnity platform connects chefs and eaters at a scale that requires cutting-edge tools and infrastructure to offer seamless food experiences to Eaters around the country. With millions of meals delivered per month, the Product Manager for the Operations Technology squad will be accountable for an ecosystem of tools and products to make this happen.

💼 As the maestro of Operations, Fulfillment, and Logistics technologies, you'll orchestrate a portfolio of tools and products to ensure flawless operational efficiency, which already delivers millions of meals each month with 80%+ YoY growth!

🚀 Get ready to propel CookUnity into the future as you define a strategy that balances incremental improvements with groundbreaking innovations. From streamlining kitchen inventory workflows to optimizing logistics and evaluating robotics technology, you’ll be the driving force behind turning a business vision into reality. As we blur the lines between the digital and physical worlds, including expanding our footprint nationally and beyond, your ideas will shape the next chapter of our story.

🤝 Collaboration is key at CookUnity. You'll work hand-in-hand with business stakeholders, engineering, data analytics, and cross-functional teams to bring your vision to life. Together, we'll set ambitious goals, experiment fearlessly, and deliver outcomes with lightning speed.

⏰ Join us on this epic journey as we revolutionize the way the world experiences food. This is your opportunity to leave a mark on an industry ripe for disruption. Are you hungry for the challenge? Apply now and let's cook up something extraordinary together!

This is a full-time hire and requires bi-annual travel to the kitchen facility in New York, with occasional travel to other kitchen and production sites.

Responsibilities:
  • Report to the Principal Product Manager for Operations Technology and eventually own the full lifecycle of product management from discovery to ideation and execution, working with your Engineering team dedicated to this area.
  • Help the Squad identify and prioritize high-potential ideas to work on that deliver on that strategy.
  • Understand stakeholder needs and pain points, collaborate with Ops Design, Fulfillment, and Logistics teams to create product or process solutions to solve these needs.
  • Leverage collaboration to drive the product strategy, OKRs, and roadmap - always with a goal of delivering towards business outcomes.
  • Own the vision and future of our internal systems and products leveraged by Fulfillment and Logistics
  • Write clear product briefs and requirement documents as a source of truth for product discovery and ideation.
  • Communication is key, always keep internal and external team members up-to-date and deliver outcomes.
Minimum Requirements:
  • 3-6 years of experience in product management.
  • You are obsessed with process improvement and using technology to drive innovation.
  • You have developed system and operational processes in collaboration with Operators and business partners; and implemented mechanisms to improve processes at scale.
  • You can effectively balance resolving critical issues that pop up with making fundamental strategic investments.
  • You have experience working in an ambiguous, fast-paced environment; leading strategic roadmap prioritization processes with senior leadership.
  • You have excellent communication skills, especially when it comes to articulating business logic to technical partners and inspiring a distributed team.
  • You have technical proficiency with Product Management tools such as writing product briefs, user stories, performing analytics, and QA testing.
  • A strong data-driven, analytical mindset to set hypotheses, narrow in on opportunities, and drive impact on KPIs.
  • Fluency in English.
Preferred requirements:
  • Experience with industry tools such as Jira, Figma, Tableau
  • Experience in world-class Operations products related to Fulfillment, Logistics or Warehouse Management
  • Experience with service design and service integration
  • Comfort with or interest in learning the basics of technical tools such as SQL databases and Postman.
  • You are a DO-er. You get things done with others and across teams with a problem-solving mindset and avoid unnecessary conflict.
  • You are detail-oriented and care deeply about delivering small or large features with exceptional quality.
  • You enjoy working in small teams in a fast-paced, high-growth startup environment.
  • You have a growth mindset and believe in setting super-ambitious goals and learning from both success and failure.
