Senior Product Documentation Lead - Product Management

Role Purpose

As Senior Product Documentation Lead, you'll spearhead the development of AI-powered documentation systems with a focus on Atlassian ecosystem integration. You'll drive content creation modernization through AI writing assistants and automated workflows in Confluence and Jira. The role involves establishing documentation standards and quality control processes that work for both AI-assisted and human-generated content. You'll be responsible for creating scalable solutions for generating and maintaining user guides and configuration documentation using automation and AI technologies. A key aspect of the position is championing the adoption of AI writing tools and automation practices to boost documentation efficiency while maintaining high quality standards throughout the organization.

As part of our team, your Key Accountabilities:

• Design and implement AI-powered documentation pipelines integrated with Jira and Confluence workflows
• Create automated documentation workflows using Confluence automation rules and Jira automation
• Develop and maintain documentation spaces in Confluence with automated organization and structure
• Implement automated linking between Jira tickets and Confluence documentation
• Set up automated documentation review cycles and approval workflows in Confluence
• Create templates and blueprints in Confluence for standardized documentation
• Establish automated documentation versioning and release notes generation from Jira
• Implement smart documentation tracking using Jira metrics and Confluence analytics
• Develop automated processes for content generation, including AI-assisted drafting and editing
• Create and maintain prompt engineering standards and best practices for AI writing tools
• Establish validation workflows to ensure AI-generated content meets quality standards
• Develop and maintain documentation-as-code practices integrated with Atlassian tools
• Implement intelligent content management systems that support multi-product documentation
• Create automated processes for content synchronization across different platforms
• Guide the adoption of modern documentation tools and AI platforms
• Develop training programs for team members on Atlassian tools and AI writing assistants
  
  

Required Skills And Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in technical communications, computer science, or related field
• 10+ years' experience in technical documentation, with at least 3 years focusing on documentation automation
• Advanced expertise in Confluence administration and automation
• Strong experience with Jira administration and workflow automation
• Proven experience with Atlassian APIs and integration capabilities
• Knowledge of Atlassian marketplace apps for documentation automation
• Experience with Confluence macro development and customization
• Demonstrated experience implementing and managing AI writing tools
• Strong understanding of AI capabilities and limitations in content generation
• Proven track record in implementing documentation automation systems
• Strong knowledge of documentation-as-code principles and tools
• Proficiency in working with AI writing platforms
• Experience implementing quality control systems for AI-generated content
• Strong background in natural language processing (NLP) and content analytics
• Proficiency in markup languages (XML, DITA, Markdown)
• Understanding of API documentation tools and automation
• Knowledge of scripting languages (Python, JavaScript) for automation
• Demonstrated success in leading documentation modernization initiatives .

• Atlassian certification in Confluence and/or Jira administration.
• Experience with Confluence Cloud and Data Center environments.
• Knowledge of Atlassian Forge and Connect frameworks.
• Experience with semantic analysis tools for content validation
• Familiarity with automated testing frameworks.
• Understanding of content intelligence and automated metadata generation.
• Experience with automated compliance checking and regulatory documentation.
• Confluence: Advanced automation, space management, templates, macros
• Jira: Workflow design, automation rules, custom fields, reporting
• Atlassian APIs: REST APIs, webhooks, integrations
• Scripting: Groovy (for Jira/Confluence), Python, JavaScript
• AI/ML tools: LLMs, NLP libraries, content analytics
• Documentation tools: Static site generators, API documentation tools
• Version control: Git, preferably with Bitbucket integration.
