We are looking for a Field Quality Engineer to implement quality management practices in the field. This role supports Field Services and Project Management by preparing Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs), conducting audits, and reviewing quality submissions for accuracy.
The engineer also assists with the Quality Management System (QMS) rollout, audits, and performance tracking. They ensure QMS compliance, drive continuous improvement, and support teams by reviewing project requirements and industry standards.
Major Responsibilities:
Work with Quality Manager on implementation and maintenance of the Quality Management System/process i.e. forms, ITP, reporting etc.
Ensure ongoing compliance with national, provincial and municipal regulations, industry standards, ENMAX standards and ENMAX programs and procedures
Review project requirements/specification including technical, regulatory and industry standards and prepare project specific Inspection and Test Plans for projects and for estimating teams (when needed)
Coordinate quality activities and ensure effective implementation of Quality Management System across projects
Participate and assist technical, professional staff in measuring and testing of product or services
Perform field quality inspection/audits
Work with Field Services teams (including sub-contractors) and ensure quality work tasks and applicable documentation is completed and submitted
Review quality submissions for accuracy and completeness before being submitted to the client
Support the resolution of Non-Conformance Reports identified in projects
Work with Field Services team in troubleshooting and resolving problems relating to quality control aspects, including Root Cause Analysis investigation of all Non-Conformances
Track and maintain project performance reporting on all aspects of quality activities
Analyze key performance indicators, identify trends and develop corrective action plans for continual improvement
Ensure project close-out reviews are completed to identify and capture Quality lessons learned for future projects
Monitor industry trends in quality and performance, emerging technologies and changes to safety and regulatory requirements and drive continuous improvement initiatives
Education Required:
Bachelor of Engineering Degree
Registered as a Professional Engineer or PL (Eng.) with The Association of Professionals in Engineering and Geoscience in Alberta (APEGA)
Knowledge of Transmission, Power Distribution Systems and Telecom (asset) related, including codes, regulations, work practices, and safety
ISO 9001 (2015) implementation experience in Electrical Utility and/or Energy industry
Qualifications & Experience:
5+ years of related utility or energy experience
Experience in quality engineering, quality assurance, or a similar role
Quality Management experience with large industrial projects preferably in electrical utility or energy industry
Working knowledge in quality management tools and the essential mechanisms of quality management systems
Certification or knowledge/experience of ISO 9001-2015 quality management
Experience implementing and performing audit under 9001-2015 compliant quality management system
Valid Class 5 License

Location: This role will be part of our hybrid (home and office) work force with office workspace located at ENMAX Place (141 - 50th Avenue SE, Calgary, AB). You will work from home on Mondays and Fridays and in the office on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday.
