Project: April 2025 – December 2026, BUT in the end it’s about 500-550h only. It’s a good chance for someone to start a B2B contract besides his normal job.

Estimated Workload for an Experienced TCMS/Assessor - Engineer

  • Preliminary Assessment Report (November 2025)
  • Analysis of existing TCMS software & documentation → 80–120 h
  • Comparison with EN 50716:2023 & gap identification → 60–80 h
  • Drafting the preliminary report & review iterations → 40–60 h
  • > TOTAL: 180–260 h (: 4–6 weeks)
  • Final Assessment & Certification (Spring/Summer 2026)
  • Detailed review & compliance verification with EN 50716:2023 → 120–160 h
  • Coordination with certification bodies, answering queries → 60–80 h
  • Final report & certification document preparation, internal/external reviews → 80–100 h
  • > TOTAL: 260–340 h (: 7–9 weeks)
  • Optional Delta Assessment (End of 2026, if modifications occur)
  • Review of modified software components → 60–80 h
  • Creation of an addendum report & certification → 40–60 h
  • >TOTAL: 100–140 h (: 3–4 weeks)

Introduction & Summary

Emagine is seeking a highly skilled TCMS/Assessor Engineer to conduct a thorough TCMS Software Assessment for the V300 DAI Zefiro Project, adhering to EN 50716:2023 standards. This role is ideal for experienced IT consultants interested in a freelance opportunity, spanning from April 2025 to December 2026, with flexible working hours and excellent compensation.

Main Responsibilities

The core responsibility of the consultant will be to lead the TCMS software assessment project. Key responsibilities include:

  • Conduct preliminary assessments and final evaluations of TCMS software.
  • Draft and review assessment reports and certifications.
  • Collaborate with certification bodies to ensure compliance.
  • Identify gaps in software documentation and compliance with EN standards.
  • Provide options for delta assessments based on modifications.

Key Requirements

  • Strong expertise in TCMS software and architecture.
  • In-depth understanding of EN 50716:2023 and related railway safety standards (EN 50128, EN 50657, EN 50126, EN 50129).
  • Background in embedded software development and verification.
  • Experience with software safety assessments and certification processes.
  • Expertise in working with certification bodies (e.g., TÜV, DEKRA).

Nice to Have

  • Project management experience.
  • Knowledge of high-speed railway systems.
  • Familiarity with international safety regulations.
